Description

Company Overview Amperesand is reinventing how the world powers its most critical systems. We are facing a once-in-a-generation opportunity for infrastructure disruption. Electricity demand is skyrocketing, driven by AI factories, electric vehicles, and modern industrial growth. Energy supply is shifting to incorporate a more diverse mix of resources – including solar, gas, and batteries – at a massive scale. And yet the power infrastructure behind our latest mega-projects hasn’t meaningfully changed in nearly 100 years. Supply chains for today’s infrastructure equipment can’t match the pace and sophistication of critical energy projects. Amperesand is building hardware and software that rewrites this broken power infrastructure playbook to support a new era of energy abundance. We’ve built a new class of intelligent, software-defined power infrastructure products leveraging a decade of advanced medium voltage Solid State Transformer research that’s now ready for commercial deployment. Our products and solutions go far beyond the capabilities of traditional electrical equipment. We make power systems that are faster to deploy, dramatically smaller and more efficient, and capable of supporting modern, dynamic energy needs for tomorrow’s most demanding energy consumers. Scalable in-house advanced manufacturing capability is our foundation for meeting timeline and quality expectation to serve infrastructure customers around the world. Amperesand is led by breakthrough energy hardware development veterans and funded by top tier investors who share our vision of building a category-defining energy technology company. With hubs in San Francisco, Reno, and Singapore, our global team is laser focused on building foundational technology to solve the most pressing problems in power infrastructure at scale. Join us in building the power foundation of the future! Responsibilities : Lead cross-functional teams across electrical engineering, power electronics, product development, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality to achieve key milestones in the development of power-focused hardware products. Drive successful execution of power electronics and electrical system programs by managing schedules, scope, and budgets while ensuring high-quality deliverables across all stages of the product lifecycle. Communicate program status, risks, and dependencies clearly and regularly to executives, engineering leaders, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and drive informed decision-making. Partner with supply chain, quality, and materials planning teams to ensure electrical components and subsystems are production-ready and aligned with program timelines, identifying and addressing material readiness risks early. Guide project engineers and technical contributors in aligning design priorities, resolving technical challenges, and maintaining schedule discipline across electrical and system integration efforts. Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define technical product requirements, refine scope, and build a development roadmap aligned with program objectives and cost targets. Support cost optimization efforts by partnering with engineering and operations to assess design trade-offs, optimize sourcing strategies, and control product cost and inventory across the lifecycle. Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of program management practices that support scalable and effective execution of electrical engineering initiatives. Proactively identify and mitigate program risks through clear planning, trade-off analysis, and stakeholder engagement to ensure program continuity and resilience. Qualifications : Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent industry experience with complex electrical systems. 5+ years of experience in program management and/or technical leadership roles involving power electronics, electrical hardware, or systems integration in a production environment. Proven track record of managing multiple complex technical programs simultaneously, ideally in industries such as renewable energy, automotive, industrial power, or aerospace. Deep understanding of power electronics principles (e.g., converters, inverters, motor drives), and experience working closely with engineering teams to guide technical execution. Strong leadership in cross-functional environments with the ability to align diverse teams around shared goals and priorities. Excellent communication skills—verbal, visual, and written—with the ability to present technical and programmatic details to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience working in fast-paced, high-complexity environments with evolving priorities and timelines. Familiarity with engineering and manufacturing processes, including DVT, EVT, DFM, and compliance standards related to electrical hardware. Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%, including international locations, to support program activities across global teams and partners.
