Description

Description Counseling / Clinical Psychology The Department of Psychology invites applications for an open-rank faculty position in Counseling/Clinical Psychology to begin August 2026. Candidates should hold either a Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA-accredited program. Rank will be dependent upon the candidate’s degree and experience. While an active counseling practice would be a desirable attribute for any applicant, it is required for consideration for Psy.D. candidates. In addition to courses in counseling/clinical psychology, the successful candidate should be able to teach psychological assessment, psychopathology, and a senior-level seminar course, as well as supervise undergraduate field placements/internships. Candidates with the ability to involve students in field-based or laboratory research are highly desirable. Additionally, candidates with an interest in teaching one or more of the following will be given particular attention: history of psychology, health psychology, positive psychology, and/or sports psychology. Please submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, graduate transcript, and statement of teaching philosophy and experience, evidence of teaching excellence (if available), statement of current and future research plans and/or description of counseling practice, and contact information for three referees, as a single PDF under the “resume” button. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Questions should be directed to Dr. Celeste Gagnon, Social and Behavioral Sciences Division Chair, at [email protected] . Additional Information In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $65,000. Additional stipends are available for extra responsibilities in teaching and service. Wagner College considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. Company Wagner College, founded in 1883, seamlessly blends professional programs with a liberal arts grounding for a comprehensive, experiential-forward education that fosters well-rounded, adaptable graduates. The college’s verdant residential campus offers a traditional college experience on New York City’s Staten Island. Wagner prides itself on robust student support services, including personalized academic advising, comprehensive career counseling, and a wide array of wellness programs. Students are prepared not only for professional success but also for meaningful lives through the faculty’s dedication to promoting scholarship, achievement, leadership and citizenship. Wagner College offers a generous benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision, pension and paid time off benefits to all full-time employees. The Wagner College Office of Human Resources partners with all members of the College community to cultivate a work environment that values equal opportunity, diversity equity inclusion and access, professional development and individual excellence. Wagner College provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, age, disability or genetics. In addition to federal law requirements, Wagner College complies with applicable state and local laws governing non-discrimination in employment in every location in which the company has facilities. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
