    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>Position Summary:&nbsp;</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif;\">This position is responsible for the provision of special education services to eligible preschool-aged children in their least restrictive environment.&nbsp;This position conducts screenings and formal developmental evaluations for 3- to 5-year-old children to determine eligibility for preschool early intervention services and is responsible for the development and implementation of special education documents. The Special Education Teacher is knowledgeable of developmentally appropriate practices and effectively communicating and delivering specially designed instruction as per OCDEL service delivery model in specialized and community settings such as preschool, childcare, or home.</span></p><p><span><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></span></p><ul><li><span style=\"color: black;\">Implements individual and group specialized instruction services in accordance with student Individualized Education Programs by embedding instruction into the student’s learning environment and collaborating with parents, IEP team members and community stakeholders to promote positive student outcomes.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"color: black;\">Participates in the identification of eligible young children by administering screenings and assessments, and completing Evaluation Report and IEP Development to ensure compliance with Child Find mandate.</span></li><li><span style=\"color: black;\">Maintains compliance of required special education paperwork by completing reevaluation reports, IEP development and data collection and other supporting documentation to ensure progress on student outcomes and compliance with local, state and federal regulations.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"color: black;\">Creates and maintains caseload schedule throughout an assigned region to ensure efficient and consistent service delivery per the Individualized Education Program.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></li><li><span>Remains current with new and effective practices, program procedures, laws and regulations by attending professional development to comply with Preschool Early Intervention program requirements. &nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"color: black;\">Represents and promotes the AIU and Preschool Early Intervention by partnering with internal and external stakeholders to establish and maintain relationships that effectively support families and advance student outcomes.&nbsp;</span></li></ul><p><span><strong>Qualifications:</strong></span></p><ol><li><span>Valid PA certification in Special Education PK-8 required</span></li><li><span>Valid PA certification in Early Childhood PK-4 preferred</span></li><li><span>Experience working with the preschool population in Early Childhood Environments preferred</span></li><li><span>Effective communication skills</span></li><li><span>Ability to build trust and positive working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholder groups</span></li><li><span>Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, while remaining logical and interpersonal</span></li><li><span>Excellent collaboration and leadership skills</span></li><li><span>Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure</span></li><li><span>Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative, and responsible</span></li><li><span>Ability to travel throughout the County required</span></li><li><span>Ability to comply with the AIU Conduct policy</span></li></ol><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span><strong>Additional Requirements:&nbsp;</strong></span></p><ol><li><span>Current Act 114, Act 34 and Act 151 required prior to an offer (Must be dated within 1 year of hire date).</span></li><li><span>School Personnel Health Record (Form H511.340) must be completed and received by Human Resources prior to hire date.</span></li></ol><p><span><strong>Working Conditions:</strong></span></p><p style=\"margin-left: 0in;\"><span>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.&nbsp;Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</span></p><ol><li><span>Sitting for extended period of time</span></li><li><span>Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling 35 pounds</span></li><li><span>Ability to kneel, crouch, bend and reach to retrieve and handle teaching materials and supplies</span></li><li><span>Moving fingers and hands in a repetitive manner</span></li><li><span>Ability to speak clearly and distinctly when communicating with limited English-speaking customers</span></li><li><span>Hearing clearly</span></li><li><span>Adequate vision to perform duties</span></li></ol><p><span>The information contained in this job description is for compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position.
