    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p id=\"isPasted\">The newly created Company, FerroWorks, has locations in Pittsburgh, McKees Rocks, and Kutztown, PA including McConway and Torley and Standard Forged, which have been in continuous operations since 1869, the same year the first US transcontinental railroad was completed. &nbsp;We have been able to meet the needs of our customers with a steady, dependable and economical supply of high-quality railroad industry products. &nbsp;As McConway is the original designers of the first standard automatic coupler, continued innovation and craftsmanship have and has led to a product line that includes every ARR approved coupler as well as custom coupler solutions, which are all proudly cast in the US.</p><p>McConway &amp; Torley is currently searching for a <strong>Lead CNC Machinist</strong>. In this position, you will lead the machining department both technically and coaching directing the work of other people in the department.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Pittsburgh, PA</p><p><strong>Shift:</strong> Must be able to work any shift. Shift will be steady once you start.</p><p><strong>Some of your key responsibilities will include:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Conducting daily toolbox talks with all shifts at intersecting shift changes</li><li>Developing the technical abilities of the team&nbsp;</li><li>Performing Quality inspections</li><li>Operating overhead cranes and forklift to transfer materials</li><li>Reading engineering drawings</li><li>Performing machining setup changes and troubleshooting machine errors</li><li>Coaching, Developing and Training entry machinists</li><li>Complete regular production&nbsp;</li><li>Multi-task and tend to multiple machines regularly</li><li>Adjusting machining programs (specifically Mazak) to get desired results&nbsp;</li><li>Collaborating with the Machinist Tech lead to learn how to build fixtures, write programs from scratch, and setup new parts</li></ul><p><strong>What you&rsquo;ll need:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Must be able to operate complex Mazak programming on precision parts and check tight tolerances&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Must be able to occasionally work differing shifts for training support as needed</li><li>Must be able to use basic measuring tools such as calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, and tape measures</li><li>Must be able to read drawings and machine a part to a drawing with no assistance</li><li>Must be able to machine critical dimensions and adjust tooling to hit desired tolerances and be well versed in adjusting tooling, programming, and setups to get a desired result</li><li>Must be able to run Mazak machines and be able to troubleshoot machine issues</li><li>Must be a professional leader who stabilizes a team and be comfortable addressing a group and giving leadership direction</li><li>Must be very patient as training is always ongoing with new/current machinists</li><li>As a people and technical leader, must be well experienced with the technical machining of multiple part types as well as experienced with training others</li><li>Must have the ability to function and communicate in a team setting</li><li>Must be attentive to detail</li><li>Must be punctual, predictable, and have regular attendance</li><li>Must be able to stand for long durations</li><li>Must be tolerant to extreme temperatures</li><li>Must be able to work in a fast paced environment</li><li>Must have a good attitude and be adaptable to changes</li><li>Must follows all safety requirements per safety department, JSA, supervision, and others</li><li>Must be available to work either shift and overtime as necessary</li><li>Must be able to lift up to 75lbs</li><li>Must be able to follow a strict safety program</li><li>This is a leadership and highly technical role for an individual looking to showcase their knowledge to both complete production and build a team of newer machinists&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Working Conditions:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.</li><li>This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays</li><li>Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Safety Activities:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Be aware of and observe all safety practices.
