    "description_html": "<p><strong>Job Title: Nurse Practitioner</strong></p><p><strong>Job Description</strong></p><p><br></p><p><u><strong>Summary</strong></u></p><p>The person in this position functions in the Clinic and/or OR setting under the supervision of his/her assigned physician; may perform activities which involve an initial evaluation and treatment of the patient’s condition, as defined in the scope of the State of Illinois standards.</p><p><br></p><p><u><strong>Responsibilities</strong></u>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Hospital/Surgical Activities</strong></p><ul><li>Secures patients’ history and physical and records same in medical record</li><li>Assists surgeon with daily rounds and records such as progress notes</li><li>Ensures the delivery of required patient x-rays to the operating room prior to operative procedure</li><li>Assists the surgeon with major and minor surgical procedures in the operating room.</li><li>Positions, preps and drapes the patient, as needed</li><li>Closes surgical wounds and performs post-operative wound care, removal of K-wires, etc.</li><li>Transmits supervising surgeon’s orders and ensures co-signature by surgeon</li><li>Inserts foley catheters, prn</li><li>Applies dressings, casts, splint brace, abduction pillows, etc.</li><li>Participates in on-call activities with assigned physician according to the Medical Center policy on allied health</li><li>Performs minor surgical procedures within scope of licensure</li><li>Performs and/or assists with patient traction, adjustment, realignment and removal of traction</li><li>Dictates H&amp;P’s, consultations and discharge summaries</li></ul><p><strong>Clinic Activities</strong></p><ul><li>Performs joint aspirations/injections</li><li>Interprets x-rays</li><li>Applies casts, splints, braces, etc. under supervision of the physician</li><li>Secures histories and physicals. Updates status of patients scheduled for recheck visits.</li><li>Removes staples, sutures, drains, etc.</li><li>Sees patients in the clinic both independently and with supervision&nbsp;</li><li>Dictates clinic progress notes.
