They encourage the involvement of the foster/adoptive families in the program and support the development of relationships between children and their families.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in the development of lesson plans by compiling and arranging materials, obtaining visual aids and supplies for students and instructors, and distributing and collecting teaching materials.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with maintaining classroom order and monitoring student behavior.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide individualized instruction to students requiring special assistance.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare administrative reports such as attendance reports, student records, check papers and projects.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for preventing client abuse by adhering to all policies and procedures, attending periodic training, reporting suspicious and inappropriate behavior, and following mandatory abuse reporting requirements.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #595959\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #595959\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #595959\">Other Duties Include:</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><br>Maintain a high standard of role model behavior for youth.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><br>Participate in training and development activities as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><br>Report any acts, incidents or conditions that reflect the possibility of inappropriate youth-to-youth or staff-to-youth relationships.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><br>Report any use of physical force and all unusual incidents per guidelines.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><br>Perform other duties as assigned or needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Requirements:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education –</span> High school diploma or equivalent</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience –</span> Minimum of 3 years’ prior relevant teaching assistant experience working with children with developmental and intellectual and/or physical disabilities.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Skills –</span> Ability to think and act independently. Advanced oral and written communication skills.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Demands -</span> Must be in good physical health and emotionally stable.
