    "description": "<h2></h2>\n<strong>GFT</strong> is seeking a \n<strong>FULL TIME</strong> \n<strong>Traffic Dispatcher Analyst </strong>(I) for the \n<strong>Regional Traffic Management (TMC) Center </strong>in the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Main office located in \n<strong>Albany, NY</strong>. This position requires onsite regular attendance at the \n<strong>Albany, NY</strong> office.  \n<strong>Traffic Dispatchers</strong> are eligible for pay increases upon successful completion of each training level. \n<strong>GFT</strong> is known for high-quality work, but it's our culture of excellence and strong leadership that drive our reputation for delivering award-winning, community-shaping, and innovative solutions. 📣 Watch Traffic Management Video! \n<strong>What you’ll be challenged to do:</strong>As a Traffic Dispatcher, you will play a key role in ensuring roadway safety and mobility by monitoring traffic conditions, responding to incidents, and dispatching NYSDOT help trucks for routine and emergency situations. This role involves call-taking, real-time data entry, and the use of Microsoft applications and web-based systems to maintain accurate records, deploy messaging via VMS boards, and provide timely travel information to the public. \n<strong>In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:</strong>\n<strong> </strong>\n<ul>\n <li>Call-taking and data entry into various computer logs and record keeping software using Microsoft applications (SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).</li>\n <li>Monitoring traffic cameras installed along the road network for declaring and responding to traffic incidents in a timely manner.</li>\n <li>Deploying messaging and monitoring VMS (Virtual Message System) boards.</li>\n <li>Dispatching NYSDOT help truck crews for routine and emergency traffic situations.</li>\n <li>Monitoring & reporting over-height vehicle detection alerts, construction work zones and roadway closures.</li>\n <li>Dispatching & reporting traffic signals malfunctions and highway maintenance calls.</li>\n <li>Monitoring & entering information into web-based traffic information systems and mapping sites for travel convenience and alerts.</li>\n <li>Pro-actively monitoring \"hotspots\", work zones, motor vehicle accidents, weather conditions, and special events.</li>\n <li>Performing record keeping tasks, computer entries, complete daily reports and quality control/assurance checks.</li>\n <li>Other duties as necessary.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2></h2>\n<strong>What you will bring to our firm: </strong>\n<ul>\n <li>Associates Degree or higher,</li>\n <li>Or two years of full-time employment in operations dispatching with at least experience in transportation, fire, police, EMS, 911, or military.</li>\n <li>Must have an aptitude for providing exceptional customer service, interpersonal relationships, and ability to work well within a diverse group.</li>\n <li>Capacity to clearly communicate written and verbal information in English. </li>\n <li>Ability to take calls, dispatch (via radio or telephone) and communicate in a clear, calm, and detailed manner.</li>\n <li>Ability to coordinate real-time activities and priorities with minimal supervision.</li>\n <li>Possess strong knowledge of Region 3 roadways.</li>\n <li>Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.</li>\n <li>Ability to use computers in “Windows Office Suite” and other web applications and completing clear and detailed written reports using effortless keyboarding skills.</li>\n <li>Adherence to company code of conduct and policies & procedures.</li>\n <li>Willing to work all shifts including weekends, overnights and holidays and be on-call if necessary (shifts include 8, 10, and 12-hour periods - depending on current needs).</li>\n <li>Must possess reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a strong work ethic.</li>\n <li>Must complete the probationary training period.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation:</strong>The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $75,000.
