    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Veterinary Anatomy Faculty Position </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-weight: bold\">Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">The Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications and nominations for a non-tenure track faculty position of Anatomy at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.  We are seeking a dynamic faculty committed to advancing excellence in veterinary education, fostering a culture of innovation, and promoting academic success among our students. Furthermore, we are pursuing an innovative, creative, collaborative faculty to engage within an inspired academic community to reimagine and transform veterinary medical education aimed at creating a vibrant learning ecosystem that graduates not only career ready, but future ready veterinarians to meet the ever-evolving healthcare needs of the 21st Century and beyond.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Primary responsibilities include teaching, service, and scholarly activities. Teaching and service activities include gross and clinical anatomy, histology, and embryology. Scholarly activities depend upon the goals of the individual and time assignment to scholarship. A typical time assignment is 75% teaching, 20% scholarly activities, and 5% service. Alternative hiring models including part time, non-benefit eligible positions will be considered.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-weight: bold\">Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Provide innovative education, mentorship, and guidance to all students in a variety of settings, including the classroom, laboratory, and simulation center in the discipline of anatomical sciences.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Participate in student assessment, feedback, and remediation to ensure that students meet LCSVM’s high academic standards in the areas of knowledge, skills, and abilities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Participate in curriculum development, delivery, assessment, and enhancement.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Provide service to Lyon College and the greater community by serving on committees, providing leadership, participating in community outreach events, and working with professional organizations and groups.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Maintain discipline and teaching expertise through continuing professional education.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Engage in scholarly activity, including research, authorship, presentations at conferences, innovations, entrepreneurship, and mentorship of students in their scholarly activities.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-weight: bold\"><em>For all positions:</em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Promote the mission of LCSVM to all faculty, staff, students, and to the local, state, national, and international communities, as appropriate.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Contribute to a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration towards better outcomes and future readiness.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Promote effective, collaborative, inclusive working relationships among faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Advance the principles of andragogy and pedagogy throughout LCSVM.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Perform other duties as assigned.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Comply with all policies and standards.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-weight: bold\">Rank:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Rank will be either Full, Associate, or Assistant Professor depending upon qualifications and experience.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</span>:  </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the delivery of veterinary/medical education, including an understanding of the principles of andragogy and pedagogy and their application in a professional curriculum.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the area of expertise.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Demonstrated record of advancing innovation and creativity in learning and scholarly pursuits.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Record of successfully contributing to collaborative teams.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Excellent communications skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented success.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span>:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-weight: bold\"><em>Required:  </em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Terminal degree (DVM, or equivalent, or MD, and/or PhD)</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-weight: bold\"><em>Preferred:  </em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Prior experience teaching within a veterinary or medical school.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Demonstrated leadership experience in educational and/or professional settings.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">Demonstrated scholarly activities in education, innovations, entrepreneurship, and/or medical research.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">This position will be based at the new Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine in Cabot, Arkansas.  The LCSVM is co-located with Cabot Animal Support Services (CASS). CASS is a local, state, and national model for shelter medicine, animal welfare, community relations, and education.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\">As a private institution, Lyon College offers advantages of nimbleness in encouraging innovations.
