    "description": "<p>The Aquatics Coordinator oversees the daily operation of the Aquatics Department and provides a safe aquatic environment for staff and patrons both in and around the pool.&nbsp;<br />\r\nEssential duties and responsibilities include the following:</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Day to Day Operations:</li>\r\n\t<li>Directly supervise aquatic staff including lifeguards, swim Instructors and water fitness instructors</li>\r\n\t<li>Identify staffing and training needs; conduct interviews, train, coach and evaluate staff</li>\r\n\t<li>Provide in-service training for skill practice, customer service, and safety procedures on a monthly/bi-Monthly schedule</li>\r\n\t<li>Create staff schedules</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p>Risk Management:</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Organize and conduct ASHI courses for internal and external customers</li>\r\n\t<li>Ensure that all aquatic staff are up to date on all required certifications, at all times</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintain branch ASHI certifications- update new certifications as well as identifying those who are coming up to expire</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintain the upkeep of all first aid kits and jump bags to ensure they are stocked and filled. Inventory back-stock and order&nbsp;new supplies as needed/budgeted</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p>Fiscal Responsibility:</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Monitor revenues and expenditures for the Aquatics Department to assure sound fiscal control. Ensure programs are operating within established budgets and identify and perform cost control activities</li>\r\n\t<li>Review and maintain payroll</li>\r\n\t<li>Work with the Supervisor/Senior Leadership Team to handle employee relations and discipline, with documentation, involving aquatics staff and patrons.</li>\r\n\t<li>Along with the Supervisor/Senior Leadership Team and Marketing Department, develop marketing strategy and campaign material for Aquatics including articles, brochures, postcards, program guide entries, audience identification, etc.</li>\r\n\t<li>Utilize excellent customer service skills, establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, members, vendors, and the community.</li>\r\n\t<li>Work as a water fitness instructor, lifeguard or swim instructor as needed.</li>\r\n\t<li>Provide leadership and direction in the development of short and long range strategic plans.</li>\r\n\t<li>Communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and members.
