Description

Ideas United is a creative studio built on the power of storytelling. Our progressive model allows our team to take an unconventional approach – by finding and fostering emerging talent, we have built a global talent network of 3,500 storytellers working alongside our in-house creatives. We partner with the best in the business — from trailblazing brands to pioneering universities and nonprofits. Through authentic, story-driven content, we create high-quality videos (from television ads to digital), events, and more. Our clients (partners) have included leading brands such as Disney, Southern Company, The Coca-Cola Company, and PGA TOUR, along with incredible university & nonprofit partners such as Smithsonian Institution, Emory University, Georgia Tech, Georgia State University, University of Cincinnati Health, and many others.  We push boundaries — investing in purpose-driven collaborations that create a lasting impact. Together, we lift voices and drive change, amplifying underrepresented perspectives and celebrating the storytellers who shape our world. We are a team of people with diverse backgrounds, different perspectives, and unique interests. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, or disability has equal opportunities to thrive, collaborate, and create. Click here to learn a bit about our team! Summary We’re looking for a curious, hands-on Project Accountant who loves connecting the dots between numbers and stories. You’ll be part of a growing finance team that thrives on solving puzzles, streamlining processes, and bringing structure to creative chaos. Your work will directly fuel our storytelling - every project you help track and every insight you uncover ensures our creatives can focus on what they do best: creating impact through story. You’ll play a key role in managing the integrity of the general ledger, supporting project-level accounting, and delivering accurate, insightful reporting that supports business decisions. This is an experienced role reporting to the VP of Finance, ideal for someone ready to own key accounting processes, influence how our systems evolve, and make finance a true creative partner across the studio located in Atlanta, GA. If you require reasonable accommodation in interviewing, completing any employment testing, or otherwise participating in this hiring process, please use our application to indicate any specific inquiries. Only requests related to accommodations will be responded to. All offers of employment at Ideas United are contingent upon clear results of a background check. Background checks will be conducted on all final candidates. What You'll Do: Own and continuously improve the monthly close process - finding smarter, faster ways to deliver accurate results. Dive into project data to uncover insights that help creative and production teams make better financial decisions. Track and reconcile project-level costs, labor allocations, and vendor activity. Experiment with systems integrations to make our reporting more connected and intuitive. Ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Collaborate with creative and production teams to translate financial outcomes into stories and strategies. Collaborate with project managers and other teams to ensure project costs and revenue are accurately captured and forecasted. Support vendor and customer workflows, including expense reports, A/P, A/R processes. Assist with audit preparation, tax support, and ad hoc financial reports. Other ad hoc projects as assigned. What Success Looks Like: You’ve made the monthly close process faster and more accurate through smarter systems or workflows. Project managers rely on your insights to understand costs, margins, and performance. Finance and creative teams trust you as a problem-solver who brings clarity to complexity. You identify process improvements proactively — and make them happen. What We'll Love About You: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. 3+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience, ideally in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP. Experience using multiple financial and non-financial systems (e.g. Quickbooks Online, Concur, PipeDrive, Monday, Slack, Looker Studio, etc.). Proven ability to perform high-quality, detailed work with minimal supervision. Advanced Excel and analytical skills; comfortable working with large data sets. Project accounting experience is strongly preferred. You’re naturally curious - you don’t just report numbers; you want to understand why they look the way they do. You’re a problem-solver who enjoys diving into new systems or messy data sets and emerging with clarity. You see ambiguity as opportunity - a chance to build or improve something that didn’t exist before. You take ownership and pride in your work and communicate clearly with others. What You'll Love About Us: A culture that encourages experimentation and learning - if you see a better way, we want to hear it. Opportunities to shape financial systems and processes as we scale Access to cross-functional projects that let you stretch beyond accounting and explore how our business runs end-to-end Competitive salary Health, vision, dental insurance Unlimited PTO Robust 401k with company-matching Flexible working schedule + a hybrid-friendly environment Frequent team activities to keep spirits high Professional growth + internal educational events Dog-friendly office Bonus Points Knowledge of film tax credit laws - Georgia and other states Masters Degree CPA or CPA candidate
