We offer a unique combination of government experience and facilities expertise that has helped us earn a position as one of the country’s leading integrated service providers.</p>\n<h2>Job Summary</h2>\n<p>EMCOR Government Services is seeking a talented Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) at Fort Carson Evan Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson, Colorado.</p>\n<p>The SSHO will be responsible for oversight of Safety and Health Program for a large government healthcare complex. The SSHO must have  the technical knowledge and skills needed to anticipate, recognize, and evaluate hazardous conditions and recommend adequate corrective actions and ensure corrections are made in a timely manner.</p>\n<p>   The Site Safety and Health Officer will have a  proof of employment for:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Five (5) years of continuous construction industry safety experience in supervising/ managing general construction (managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls), or</li>\n <li>Five (5) years of continuous general industry safety experience in supervising/ managing general industry (managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls), or</li>\n <li>If the SSHO has a Third-Party, Nationally Accredited (ANSI or National Commission for Certifying Agencies - NCCA) SOH-related certification. The following is a list of acceptable certifications:\n  <ul>\n   <li>CFPS - Certified Fire Protection Specialist</li>\n   <li>CIH – Certified Industrial Hygienist</li>\n   <li>CHP – Certified Health Physicist</li>\n   <li>CHMM - Certified Hazardous Materials Manager</li>\n   <li>CHMP - Certified Hazardous Materials Practitioner</li>\n   <li>CHST - Construction Health and Safety Technologist</li>\n   <li>CMSP - Certified Mine Safety Professional</li>\n   <li>COHN - Certified Occupational Health Nurse</li>\n   <li>COHN-S - Certified Occupational Health Nurse – Specialist</li>\n   <li>CSP - Certified Safety Professional</li>\n   <li>OHST - Occupational Health and Safety Technologist</li>\n   <li>STS - Safety Trained Supervisor</li>\n   <li>CHSP – Certified Healthcare Safety Professional</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p>SSHOs shall maintain competency through having taken 24 hours of documented in person formal, on-line, or self-study safety and health related course work every four (4)  years.  Examples of continuing education activities that meet this requirement are:              </p>\n<ul>\n <li>\n  <ul>\n   <li> Writing an article, teaching a class, reading/writing professional articles, attendance/participation in professional societies/meetings, conferences, etc.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>#EGS</p>\n<p>#LI-NS1</p>\n<h4><strong> *** This position is contingent upon contract award. ***</strong></h4>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for the safety and health program for a day-to-day onsite facilities management for a government medical facility outpatient program.</li>\n <li>Provide safety and health oversight to a diverse team of managers, leads, technicians, and administrative staff.</li>\n <li>Generate and administer Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA ) and provide the appropriate safety training and awareness to the trades staff.</li>\n <li>Ensure staff and subcontractors adhere to safety plans and processes and requirements.</li>\n <li>Coordinate closely with customer Facility Management points of contact in providing formal and ad hoc reports, scheduling services, sharing program status, and making best practice recommendations.</li>\n <li>Ensure work is completed in compliance with contract requirements, healthcare codes and regulations, budgets, and performance standards.</li>\n <li>Resolve conflicts, identified deficiencies, and issues following reporting and corrective action requirements.</li>\n <li>Maintain OSHA required program documentation and records for The Joint Commission (TJC) requirements, training, staff certifications and licenses, and permits.</li>\n <li>Conduct staff training, safety briefings, and safety inspections.</li>\n <li>Provide subcontractor safety orientation, accident investigations and necessary follow-up actions.</li>\n <li>Provide safety plans and an approved Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) in accordance to the USACE 385-1-1 Safety Manual to include crane operations, excavations greater than five (5) feet, confined space entry, and electrical work to include LOTO.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>OSHA 30-hour training certificate or training card;</li>\n <li>Resume or certificates demonstrating, for a minimum of the last five (5) years, having maintained competencies through 8-hours of formal safety and health related training per year</li>\n <li>Resume demonstrating five (5) years of continuous safety experience in supervising or managing general industry/construction/O&M, including managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls</li>\n <li>Resume demonstrating three (3) years of government medical research or hospital safety experience.</li>\n <li>The Safety and Health Officer shall also have working experience with NFPA, EPA, TJC, CMS, OSHA codes and standards</li>\n <li>Experience in writing Activity Hazards Analysis (AHA)</li>\n <li>Training Certificate of completion of 385-1-1 Safety Manual.</li>\n <li>Experience using DMLSS CMMS is preferred.</li>\n <li>Strong oral and written communication skills required.</li>\n <li>Completion of OSHA 30 is required</li>\n <li>Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Compensation Range:   $95,000 - $100,000</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Other Compensation:  </strong><strong>NA</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Benefits:  </strong><strong>As a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure, EMCOR Group is committed to its employees.
