Other duties may be assigned.</p><ul style=\"margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Purchase and manage a variety of products and brands for FWRD.com</li><li>Knowledgeable in women&rsquo;s contemporary and luxury brands, as well as current trends</li><li>Responsible for assortment selection for 80+ luxury brands consisting of planning, customer needs, trends, competitors and merchandising</li><li>Study sales history and inventory levels to evaluate what product is needed</li><li>Ability to balance multiple brands and strategic thinking, as well as attention to detail</li><li>Ability to effectively negotiate with vendors on RA&rsquo;s, sell through guarantees, trade discounts, marketing co-ops</li><li>Identify opportunities and risks in-season through analyzing sales performance</li><li>Responsible for calculating gross margin, turnover and OTB</li><li>Reviews sales results to strategize timely mark-downs and manages old age inventories through strategic liquidation</li><li>Work closely with analytics team to execute a proper buy</li><li>Oversee Buying Assistant new order placement, reorders, and tracking to ensure timely receipt of merchandise</li><li>Sourcing new products and new vendors</li><li>Work on special projects as assigned</li><li>Train and support Assistant Buyer and Buying Admin</li><li>Some travel is required</li><li>Must be able to work flexible hours to get the job done</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Required Competencies:</u></strong></p><p>To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:</p><ul style=\"margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Ability to demonstrate logical thinking and problem solving skills</li><li>Ability to develop strong, synergistic relationships with a multitude of teams and personnel</li><li>Strong multitasking, prioritization, and organization skills</li><li>Strong work ethic to excel in a fast paced environment</li><li>Capable self-manager ability to give constructive criticism, encourage teammates, and celebrate team successes&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to work successfully with any personality type</li><li>Strong analytical skills, good judgment, creativity, and enthusiasm</li><li>Ability to make tight deadlines&nbsp;</li><li>Strong understanding of industry trends and market awareness</li><li>Ability to work in a faced-paced growing environment</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Minimum Qualifications:</u></strong></p><ul style=\"margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Fashion or Business preferred</li><li>5 + years of women&rsquo;s buying experience</li><li>3 years experience in a buying office or fashion industry environment required</li><li>Work experience as a Buyer is required</li><li>Strong knowledge of and ability to apply retail math concepts, including elements of markup, margin planning, open to buy, and inventory productivity measures</li><li>Proficient in Email, Microsoft applications</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Preferred Qualifications:&nbsp;</u></strong></p><ul style=\"margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Experience as a Manager&nbsp;</li><li>Home Buying Experience&nbsp;</li><li>E-commerce experience&nbsp;</li></ul><p><br></p><p>A successful candidate works well in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
