We´re looking for a Engineer II to join our team:
Under moderate supervision, reports to a designated supervisor of a section, team, or organization. Responsible for specific assignments involving conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures and equipment, and operating problems with some sophisticated features. Employing established techniques and usually following precedents, performs such assignments as equipment design and development, materials tests, preparation of specifications, applications studies, analyses of system or process troubles, research investigations, system planning studies and preparation of technical reports. With instructions from the supervisor, is responsible for projects with specific assignment objectives, points of emphasis and sources of information, with subsequent supervisory reviews of engineering judgment used.
Key Responsibilities:
Designing overhead and underground electrical infrastructure for road project relocations, make-ready work, new circuits, and reliability projects. Preparing detailed field layouts, construction prints, and work orders. Performing structural and electrical analyses, including voltage drop and mechanical loading. Collaborating with survey crews to ensure project data accuracy and assisting in the completion of field-based deliverables. Serving as a technical point of contact for customers, contractors, and vendors regarding project requirements and timelines. Preparing and initiating easement requests and multi-agency permits (e.g., Railroad, INDOT, and local), ensuring all technical specifications are met prior to final acquisition. Conducting field inspections of construction projects to ensure conformance with design specifications, documenting and reporting any discrepancies. Prepares daily and other periodic reports. Providing training to less senior employees.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Engineering
3-5 years of recent verifiable experience
Experience in Electric Generation or Utility a plus
Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Suite
Strong communications skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others as well as operate with a minimum of supervision
Additional consideration will be given for the following job-related training or experience :
GTech or DDS O-Calc SAG10 SPANS National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) AutoCAD SAP
