Scales, buffs, and paints deck and superstructure; sweeps and washes deck; splices wire and rope; breaks out, rigs, and stows cargo-handling gear, stationary rigging and running gear; secures cargo; launches and recovers boats. May rig and operate specialty winches and handle and stow operations support equipment. In addition, when assigned, to watch obstructions in the path of vessel, steering vessel, serving on security patrol and standing gangway watch.</p><p>Reuirements:</p><ul><li class=\"msonormal\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 0.000133333px 18px; line-height: normal;\">Must be within driving distance to Port Hueneme CA.&nbsp;</li><li class=\"msonormal\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 0.000133333px 18px; line-height: normal;\">Must work well with others and possess a positive attitude and work ethic. &nbsp;</li><li class=\"msonormal\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 0.000133333px 18px; line-height: normal;\">Must be able to take direction. &nbsp;</li><li class=\"msonormal\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 0.000133333px 18px; line-height: normal;\">Possess basic shipboard knowledge of vessel safety procedures, including safety drills and security protocols, mooring and tying up operations, line splicing, chipping, painting, sweeping, mopping, general vessel cleaning, and routine maintenance.
