    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Hexagon Autonomous Solutions is looking for a <strong>Mechanical Engineer</strong><strong> </strong>to lead the mechanical design and environmental validation of ruggedized enclosures and mounting systems for smart antennas, radar/lidar/camera modules, and high-performance compute platforms. Your work will ensure these systems operate reliably in harsh automotive and industrial environments.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>The Location:</strong> Hexagon is a global company with offices around the world. This position can be located in <strong>Calgary, AB.  </strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>As a <strong>Mechanical</strong><strong> Engineer</strong>, responsibilities include: </p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Mechanical Design</li>\n <li>Design enclosures and mounts for sensors and compute units with IP67+ sealing and thermal management.</li>\n <li>Develop 3D CAD models and detailed drawings using tools like SolidWorks or Creo.</li>\n <li>Optimize designs for manufacturability, serviceability, and cost.</li>\n <li>Thermal & Structural Analysis</li>\n <li>Perform thermal simulations and structural FEA to validate designs under extreme conditions.</li>\n <li>Design passive and active cooling solutions for high-power compute systems.</li>\n <li>Environmental & Durability Testing</li>\n <li>Define and execute test plans for vibration, shock, thermal cycling, and ingress protection.</li>\n <li>Support certification efforts for automotive and industrial standards.</li>\n <li>Prototyping & Integration</li>\n <li>Oversee prototype builds and support integration of mechanical systems with electrical and optical components.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers for tooling and production.</li>\n <li>Cross-Functional Collaboration</li>\n <li>Work closely with electrical, systems, and software teams to ensure cohesive product development.</li>\n <li>Participate in design reviews and contribute to system-level architecture decisions.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Must-Have: </strong><strong> </strong> <strong> </strong> <strong> </strong>                  </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering.</li>\n <li>5+ years of experience in ruggedized product design, preferably in automotive or industrial sectors.</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of materials, sealing techniques, and thermal management.</li>\n <li>Experience with IP67/IP69K design, vibration isolation, and EMI shielding.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Key Success Factors:</strong><strong> </strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Able to work in a collaborative, multi-site, team environment</li>\n <li>Confident Self-starter</li>\n <li>Detail oriented person able to follow complex instructions with a “first-time right” attitude</li>\n <li>Motivated by challenging work</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Nice to Have:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Familiarity with automotive standards (e.g., ISO 16750, LV124) is a strong asset.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>If you require any special accommodation, please email our team at [email protected] and we will be pleased to follow up with you.
