    "description_html": "<p>The role of substitute musician (pianist organist) is to prayerfully and skillfully perform for parish liturgies and other designated celebrations for St. John LaLande Parish in Blue Springs, MO. &nbsp;Weekend Masses are held at 4:30pm on Saturday and 8:00am and 10:30am on Sundays.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Duties:</strong></p><ul><li>Plays hymns, psalm and ordinary, along with preludes, postludes, etc.</li><li>45 minute warm-up rehearsal before Mass.</li><li>Temporary supervision of volunteer musicians or cantors.</li><li>Opportunity to play for weddings and funerals for additional compensation.</li><li>Duties may involve Thursday rehearsal with cantors.&nbsp;</li><li>This position reports to the liturgy and music director and Pastor.</li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to collaborate with others and practice outside of rehearsal.</li><li>Attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to lead the congregation without overpowering them.</li><li>Ability to improvise to fill in time as needed.</li><li>Ability to communicate well and efficiently utilize time.</li><li>Willing to learn how to use our iPad to adjust the volume of cantors and lectors during Mass.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Ideally, a practicing Catholic with ethical standards, personal integrity and conduct consistent with the morals and teachings of the Catholic Church.</li><li>Passionate about the Church, Liturgy and Music and building relationships.</li></ul><p><br></p>",
