    "description": "<h2>About JerseySTEM</h2>\n<p><strong>All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.</strong>JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.</p>\n<p>Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a <strong>minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week </strong>and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>This is a pro-bono volunteer position.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>JerseySTEM provides free after school STEM classes to underserved middle school girls grade 5-8</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Join JerseySTEM as a <strong>Robotics Team Member</strong> and contribute to our mission of providing STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls through exciting robotics projects and activities. This role plays a crucial part in our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls, fostering their interest and skills in robotics and technology.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate with subject matter experts and educators to identify learning objectives and content requirements.</li>\n <li>Design curriculum modules, lesson plans, and teaching materials for various STEM subjects, ensuring they are age-appropriate and aligned with educational standards.</li>\n <li>Create interactive and hands-on activities that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity in students.</li>\n <li>Incorporate technology and digital resources to enhance learning experiences. Review and edit existing curriculum materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness.</li>\n <li>Develop specialized curriculum modules focusing on Robotics, designed to engage and challenge middle school students.</li>\n <li>Work with the Education Team to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the designed curriculum.</li>\n <li>Provide support and training to educators and volunteers on the effective use of the curriculum materials.</li>\n <li>Stay up-to-date with developments in the education field and make continuous improvements to the curriculum.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Proficiency in robotics design, programming, and electronics.</li>\n <li>Strong leadership and team management skills.</li>\n <li>Experience working with middle school students or youth robotics programs.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.</li>\n <li>Problem-solving mindset and creativity in designing robotics projects.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of STEM education principles and hands-on learning methods.</li>\n <li>Comfortable using relevant software and hardware tools for robotics.</li>\n <li>Collaborative and adaptable approach to teamwork.</li>\n <li>Passion for promoting STEM education and gender equity.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Time Commitment</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>3-6 Hours weekly</li>\n <li>6 months minimum</li>\n</ul>",
