    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Data Manager supports the Missile Defense Agency’s Information Management and Software Services (AIMSS) program by executing and overseeing the full lifecycle of test and mission data across MDA systems. This role focuses on data flow coordination with test data producers, adherence to mission-specific standards, and the operational management of data ingestion, parsing, cataloging, distribution, and archival. The Data Manager ensures data products are delivered accurately, securely, and on time to support analysis and decision-making, serving as a bridge between test event operations and data consumers. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as the primary interface with test data producers to ensure timely, standardized delivery of data products defined in Integrated Data Management Plans (IDMPs) and Data Handling Plans (DHPs).</li>\n <li>Manage data transfers via secure file transfer and synchronization tool (e.g. IBM Aspera) and physical media; execute parsing, cataloging, ingestion, and archival processes in accordance with SOPs and mission timelines.</li>\n <li>Track, validate, and report data delivery status from receipt through dissemination and archival, ensuring metadata completeness and policy compliance.</li>\n <li>Apply and enforce MDA-approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and metadata standards; identify gaps and recommend updates.</li>\n <li>Verify data format and metadata compliance from providers; collaborate with Mission Data Owners to address non-standard inputs.</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with retention schedules; coordinate archival and destruction activities with proper documentation and traceability.</li>\n <li>Operate AIMSS mission tools such as the Data Management System (DMS), Library Control Center (LCC), and other purpose-built data management tools; interface with software teams for system issues or enhancements.</li>\n <li>Conduct QA checks to validate data integrity, reconcile orphan files, and verify cataloging accuracy.</li>\n <li>Maintain accountability of physical and digital media, ensuring check-in/out procedures are followed and inventory status is accurate.</li>\n <li>Generate and maintain trackers, reports, and dashboards on data readiness, ingestion metrics, and distribution milestones; communicate status to leadership and analysis teams.</li>\n <li>Identify workflow inefficiencies (e.g., duplicative data entry) and propose automation or process optimization opportunities.</li>\n <li>Work closely with Data Analysts, Librarians, and Advanced Research Center (ARC) personnel to ensure consistent data flow and support Joint Analysis Team (JAT) requirements.</li>\n <li>Participate in cross-training; contribute to onboarding materials and lessons learned to support workforce standardization.</li>\n <li>Provide surge and after-hours support for critical test events as required.</li>\n <li>Support audits, retention reviews, and process assessments</li>\n <li>Perform other data management tasks as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Education/Experience </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Data Management, or a related field is desired. </li>\n <li>5–10 years of experience in data management or test data operations; experience with MDA or DoD programs strongly preferred. </li>\n <li>Familiarity with mission test environments, metadata standards, and secure data handling. </li>\n <li>Experience in multi-domain data environments (classified/unclassified). </li>\n <li>Active DoD Secret clearance required; must maintain eligibility throughout employment. </li>\n <li>Must reside within 50 miles of Redstone Arsenal or be willing to relocate. </li>\n <li>U.S. Citizenship is required. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Knowledge/Skills</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong understanding of end-to-end data lifecycle management (collection, validation, ingestion, dissemination, archival). </li>\n <li>Familiarity with data governance principles, metadata standards, and retention policy enforcement. </li>\n <li>Hands-on experience with custom or mission-specific data systems; adaptability to non-COTS environments. </li>\n <li>Working knowledge of SQL or similar query/reporting tools preferred. </li>\n <li>Experience with data transfer protocols, data handling, and classified data workflows. </li>\n <li>Excellent communication and coordination skills with the ability to interface directly with test data producers, Mission Data Owners (MDOs), and MDA program elements; serves as a subject matter expert on data management processes, standards, and best practices. </li>\n <li>Detail-oriented with strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills. </li>\n <li>Ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment and meet tight deadlines. </li>\n <li>Collaborative mindset with the ability to coordinate across government and contractor teams. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Physical Demands</p>\n<ul>\n <li>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.</li>\n <li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
