    "description": "<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">The Opportunity</span></p>\n<p>The part-time Ice Crew is responsible for ensuring that the ice surfaces at the Richcraft Sensplex (Ottawa East) are properly maintained and for general maintenance and cleaning in and around the facility. This position will remain open for future hiring puposes. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ongoing</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Edge ice before games<br></li>\n<li>Shovel snow away from exit doors<br></li>\n<li>Remove and replace hockey nets for Zamboni driver<br></li>\n<li>Ensure all ice pads are resurfaced according to facility schedules<br></li>\n<li>Perform weekly/daily maintenance on all ice pads<br></li>\n<li>Complete minor repairs on ice surface, dasher boards, safety shields, and all other equipment<br></li>\n<li>General maintenance and cleaning in and around the facility, such as picking up litter and emptying trash bins, cleaning dressing rooms and washrooms<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Periodic</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform ice resurfacing duties from time to time by operating and driving the Zamboni<br></li>\n<li>Perform other duties as required from time to time at the request of the Arena &amp; Facility Manager and Director of Operations<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Health &amp; Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities </span></p>\n<p>Responsible for ensuring that all areas covered by Occupational Health &amp; Safety Act (OHSA) are adhered to, specifically:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA, regulations and internal policies and procedures<br></li>\n<li>Using or wearing protective equipment, devices or clothing when required<br></li>\n<li>Reporting any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger himself or herself or another team member<br></li>\n<li>Reporting any contravention of the OHSA, regulations or Senators Sports &amp; Entertainment policies and procedures<br>Training</li>\n<li>Responsible for completing on-line training modules including, but not limited to:\n<ul>\n<li>Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability (AODA)</li>\n<li>AODA, the Integrated Accessibility Standard (IASR)</li>\n<li>Ontario Worker Health &amp; Safety Awareness</li>\n<li>Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)</li>\n<li>Violence and Harassment in the Workplace</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>May also be required to attend on-site training sessions as scheduled (eg. customer service).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications (what we look for)</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Energetic and enthusiastic, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn<br></li>\n<li>Must possess a valid drive's license<br></li>\n<li>Must be physically able to do heavy lifting (50 lbs) and be comfortable working at heights<br></li>\n<li>Possess knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods used in ice resurfacing<br></li>\n<li>Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety precautions.<br></li>\n<li>Familiar with tools and maintenance equipment<br></li>\n<li>Must be willing to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays<br></li>\n<li>Bilingual (French &amp; English) preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(185, 34, 21); font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who We Are</span> </span></p>\n<p>The Sensplex Facilities, an affiliate of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, are Ottawa’s premier destinations for hockey, sports, and community events.
