    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Candidate will need to be qualified in installing, testing and certifying structured and patch panel cabling in a data center environment.</p><p>Introduction:</p><p>Black Box Network Services, the global leader in communication system integration, is looking for a Network Infrastructure Technician with a proven track record in:</p><p>Working in a structured cabling environment.</p><p>Installing single and multi-mode optical cabling.</p><p>Inspecting and cleaning installed optical cabling.</p><p>Installing copper cable to IEEE and BICSI cabling standards.</p><p>Testing installed cables using a Fluke Versiv Mainframe.</p><p>Decommissioning obsolete networking cabling infrastructure.</p><p>Working with elevated and underfloor cabling trays.</p><p>Assist in troubleshooting network equipment and cabling.</p><p>This position will support facilities management, site security and project engagement with a commitment and desire to satisfy our customer by completing all work at the highest level, always striving for perfection. The candidate must be motivated and self-driven for success.</p><p>Position Details:</p><p>Hourly position based upon experience &amp; skill level</p><p><strong>CURRENT SCHEDULE WILL STAY THE SAME AS THIS IS A CONVERSION</strong></p><p>Location: Customer site - Secaucus, NJ 07094</p><p>Client Addendum will need to be followed. Copy will be provided at the time of candidates offer.</p><p>Other Responsibilities Include:</p><p>The patching cabling between network equipment and customer’s network.</p><p>The installation of power cables from equipment to power supply in rack/cabinet/closet.</p><p>The installation, troubleshooting and de-installing network equipment.</p><p>Install/swap out cables, switches routers and etc.</p><p>Complete all hard and complex Move, Add Change (MAC) requests within the defined service levels.</p><p>Provide infrastructure cabling break-fix services for network infrastructure.</p><p>Perform layer 1 troubleshooting</p><p>Support carrier testing of circuits.</p><p>Assist with facilities efforts.</p><p>Power and uninterruptable power supply (UPS) restoral.</p><p>Water problems.</p><p>Emergency cooling restoration.</p><p>Fire suppression exercises, restoration, and post fire events.</p><p>Act as an interface, as needed, between associates at the applicable location and centralized project / operations / MAC management.</p><p>Requirements:</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Requires appropriate equipment training with high-speed fiber optic transport.</p><p>The ability to clean high speed single and multi-mode optical connections.</p><p>The ability to measure, transmit and receive on high-speed optics.</p><p>The knowledge and experience to work safely with high-speed single mode long range optical lasers.</p><p>Experienced with Fluke Versiv Mainframe</p><p>Requires experience in working in a data centers and communications closets.</p><p>Must be able to safely lift heavy objects.</p><p>Must understand cable patching processes and procedures.</p><p>Proven success troubleshooting layer 1 network concerns</p><p>Must be willing to work shift work which includes nights and weekends.</p><p>Experience and Education:</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>2-5 yrs experience relevant experience, preferably at least 1 year in a data center environment</p><p>Must an in-depth knowledge of structured cabling</p><p>Knowledge of IEEE and BICSI cabling standards</p><p>Physical Requirements:</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Heavy Work: May frequently exert force equivalent to lifting up to approximately 50 pounds and/or occasionally exert force equivalent to lifting up to approximately 100 pounds.</p><p>Vision: Requires the ability to perceive the nature of objects by the eye.</p><p>Near Acuity: Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.</p><p>Midrange: Clarity of vision at distances of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet.</p><p>Far Acuity: Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.</p><p>Peripheral: Ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point.</p><p>Depth Perception: Three-dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are.</p><p>Ability to adjust focus: Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.</p><p>Color Vision: Ability to identify colors.</p><p>Speaking/Hearing: Possesses the ability to give and receive information through speaking and listening skills.</p><p>Motor Coordination: While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
