We seek employees who bring different and innovative ways of seeing the world and solving problems.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Simon Lab at Fred Hutch seeks a highly skilled <strong>Post-Doctoral Research Fellow</strong> to define principles for successful adoptive transfer of genetically modified Chimeric TCR T cells, with a focus on engineering synthetic T cell signaling circuits to instruct T cells with optimized functions for cancer therapy.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>To drive a project to develop the next generation of highly sensitive and multi-specific T cell receptors for adoptive cell transfer immunotherapies of blood cancers and solid tumors with the goal to prevent relapses in treated patients. The incumbent will lead a project independently while mentoring and directing junior members of the team under the PI's supervision.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Duties:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Handling projects independently, including literature reviews, experimental design, and data analysis, under the guidance of the laboratory PI.</li>\n <li>Contributing to the preparation of research reports, publications, and oral presentations.</li>\n <li>Stay current with relevant publications and apply knowledge to research.</li>\n <li>Compile data and synthesize innovative problem-solving methods.</li>\n <li>Collaborate and present data with a wide range of stakeholders and partners.</li>\n <li>Opportunities for presentations at scientific conferences and symposiums.</li>\n <li>Mentor and lead undergraduate and graduate students.</li>\n <li>Assist with lab maintenance and function.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>MD and/or a PhD in a biological science with a diverse knowledge of immunology</li>\n <li>Proficient in immunology techniques and know-how</li>\n <li>Strong scientific writing skills, ability to write and apply for funding opportunities and abstracts</li>\n <li>Able to digest complex material and synthesize innovative ideas</li>\n <li>Compile and clearly present data to an eclectic audience, both orally and written</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of T cell biology and signaling is required</li>\n <li>Demonstrate strong capacities to lead tool and technology development to interrogate biology</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience in gene editing, proteomics and microscopy.</li>\n <li>Strong publication record</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The annual base salary range for this position is from $80,172 to $95,014, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
