Ensures products and goods are produced efficiently, safely, and meet the quality standards of&nbsp;Polyglass. Responsible for the development of production goals and drives&nbsp;continuous improvement&nbsp;throughout the entire operation.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Position reports to&nbsp;the Senior Corporate Operations Manager and provides an interface with&nbsp;the Production, Maintenance, Quality, Shipping/Receiving, and other functional departments as required. Additional reporting to Director, Manufacturing.&nbsp;</span></p>\n<p><span><strong>POSITION COMPETENCIES:&nbsp;</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Excellent&nbsp;analyzing&nbsp;and troubleshooting skills.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Ability to grasp the problem at hand and take quick action to resolve it.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Communicates&nbsp;effectively and concisely to your team</span></li>\n <li><span>Anticipates consequences and maintain&nbsp;a big picture approach in decision making.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Works&nbsp;harmoniously and with tact and diplomacy in dealing with a broad range of people.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Operates&nbsp;pro-actively, anticipating possible problems, opportunities, and challenges.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Understands, uses, and prepares&nbsp;budgets, balance sheets and other financial constraints, as directed by senior management.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Manages with a ‘Safety-First’ mindset</span></li>\n <li><span>Manage projects and achieves&nbsp;desired results efficiently and on time.&nbsp;</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Promotes a ‘safety first’ culture by living by example and consistently enforcing all policies surrounding safety&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Lend input, expertise, and guidance in all areas of production including line operation, staffing optimization, safety, team morale, quality, maintenance, logistics, and all other areas of delivering on goals</span></li>\n <li><span>Ensures that products being manufactured meet the company’s standards, policies, and practices.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Partner with Human Resources to track, strategize and improve upon turnover / retention numbers by creating a strong culture where team members feel respected and appreciated and Supervisors are adequately trained&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Manage a plant-wide budget efficiently and effectively</span></li>\n <li><span>Develops annual business planning and budgeting of the manufacturing plant.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Confers with senior management to ensure that manufacturing objectives are being met.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Supervises the work of all manufacturing plant staff.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Creates&nbsp;short and long-term&nbsp;plans to increase efficiency and profitability of the plant.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Establishes SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time bound) goals for him (her)self and the manufacturing plant employees.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Reviews management operating system to ensure all aspects of operations are being monitored and measured on consistent bases. Identify permanent solutions to problems.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Ensures environmental and regulatory compliance.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Analyzes line speed charts and develops goals based on real time data.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Reviews monthly KPI’s</span></li>\n <li><span>Spends majority of time on the production floor with Superintendent performing the following:&nbsp;</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ol>\n <li><span>Promoting a positive work environment through direct feedback, written notes/documentation as observed&nbsp;during&nbsp;plant&nbsp;processing activity-monitoring</span></li>\n <li><span>Management process review of line date worker functionality and efficiencies.&nbsp;Equipment analysis and suitability for application for process improvements and corrective actions.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Promotes the company safety, quality and housekeeping policies through leadership and the concept of “management by walking around”.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Team building through meetings as needed.&nbsp;Works with Superintendent to provide technical advice, guidance, etc.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Establishes communication with all employees to collect feedback and suggestions.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Trains and motivates supervisors to ensure finished goods meet production specifications and proper records are maintained.&nbsp;</span></li>\n</ol>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Performs other duties as required.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>REQUIRED&nbsp;QUALIFICATIONS:&nbsp;</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>5-10 years’ experience in a manufacturing leadership role (managing people and process) is required, showing career stability, but also progression&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Experience in managing production teams to success</span></li>\n <li><span>Requires proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint</span></li>\n <li><span>Bachelor’s degree in industrial management, business, or engineering is preferred, however, strong relevant experience from non-degreed candidates will be considered</span></li>\n <li><span>Experience in the following environments preferred: web process manufacturing, paper/printing, building materials, roofing, fiberglass, waterproofing</span></li>\n <li><span>Strong mechanical aptitude - technical knowledge and troubleshooting of industrial automation equipment - is highly preferred</span></li>\n <li><span>A history of strong Root Cause Analysis - technical and overall process - is key to success in this role</span></li>\n <li><span>A documented record of success in tracking and improving turnover within a production team</span></li>\n <li><span>Must be available via phone for 24/7 plant support.&nbsp;</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>Why Polyglass?&nbsp; </strong>Because we are a values-driven organization first that treats our employees like family and allows you to share in our success.&nbsp;&nbsp;We offer career stability and growth, best-in-class compensation and benefits and an opportunity to work alongside a passionate, dedicated team to achieve goals together.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p>\n<p><span>Check out how it feels to be part of </span><a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qG07JonFnw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span>Life at Polyglass</span></a><span>!</span></p>",
