This is your chance to join our team - help us to understand today&rsquo;s transportation needs and develop plans that create livable communities!</strong></p><p>We are currently seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Lead to join our team. &nbsp;The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience performing bridge safety inspections in Virginia.</p></div><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Lead field inspection teams in performing bridge and structural inspections in accordance with NBIS (National Bridge Inspection Standards).</li><li>Plan, coordinate, and execute inspection projects to meet client and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Perform hands-on inspection of bridges and related structures, including climbing, operating under-bridge inspection units, and utilizing rope access or other specialized methods as required.</li><li>Review, interpret, and apply federal, state, and local regulations and inspection standards.</li><li>Document inspection findings through detailed reports, including field notes, photographs, and condition assessments.</li><li>Mentor and supervise inspection staff, ensuring accurate data collection and adherence to safety and quality standards.</li><li>Coordinate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders regarding schedules, deliverables, and inspection outcomes.</li><li>Maintain compliance with company safety protocols and industry best practices.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Education: High School Diploma required; Associate&rsquo;s or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.</li><li>Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in structural or NBIS bridge inspection.</li><li>Current NBIS Team Leader Certification per Title 23, Chapter I, Subchapter G, Part 650, Subpart C &sect; 650.309 or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment</li><li>Strong knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and VDOT bridge inspection requirements. &nbsp;Experience in NC, WV, and MD is a &ldquo;bonus&rdquo;</li><li>Proficiency in inspection software, data collection tools, and Microsoft Office.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction documents.</li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.</li><li>Working knowledge of MicroStation and MS Office</li><li>Completed comprehensive training course based on the FHWA Bridge Inspector&#39;s Reference Manual (BIRM) (NHI Course 130055) and be currently with refresher requirements</li><li style=\"box-sizing: border-box; outline: none; --tw-shadow: 0 0 #0000; --tw-ring-inset: ; --tw-ring-offset-width: 0px; --tw-ring-offset-color: #fff; --tw-ring-color: rgba(59,130,246,.5); --tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 #0000; --tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 #0000;\" id=\"isPasted\">Must be willing to work nights and overtime, when required by the project assignment</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left: 20px;\">Additional NHI coursework: Bridge Inspection Techniques for Nonredundant Steel Tension Members (NHI Course &nbsp;130078), Inspection of Ancillary Highway Structures (NHI Course 130087B) preferred&nbsp;</p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Physical Requirements (Essential Functions):&nbsp;</strong></p><p>This position requires the ability to perform a variety of physical tasks in the field as part of the essential job functions. Duties may include:&nbsp;</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Walking and navigating across rough or uneven terrain such as mud, rocks, grass, dirt, steep hillsides, heavily wooded areas, and other unpaved surfaces</li><li>Moving around active project sites, which may involve climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles</li><li>Performing physical activities such as bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing</li><li>Remaining in a stationary position&mdash;either standing or sitting&mdash;for extended periods of time</li><li>Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers</li><li>Lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds and/or carting objects up to 50 lbs distances up to 250 yards. &nbsp;</li><li>Driving to and from project sites which may involve distances of up to or exceeding 200 miles round trip.</li><li>Must be able to function safely in an environment with potential risks, including, but not limited to those described in this document.</li></ul><p>The work environment may include exposure to a range of environmental conditions, including high and low temperatures, precipitation, and other outdoor elements.
