Overview
The Physical Security Tech Apprentice is an entry-level position responsible for assisting in the installation and maintenance of physical security systems. Under close supervision, this role supports security operations by learning and performing basic tasks related to access control, intrusion and panic systems, and research freezer monitoring across all USU locations.

Responsibilities
Assists in the installation of access control, intrusion and panic systems, and research freezer monitoring.
Performs routine maintenance under supervision.
Learns to diagnose and troubleshoot basic physical security system issues.
Follows safety protocols and guidelines.
Maintains tools and equipment for physical security installations.
Documents work performed and reports issues to senior technicians.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. No prior experience required, but relevant coursework or training in electronics or physical security systems is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Basic understanding of physical security systems and electrical components.
Willingness to learn technical skills and troubleshooting techniques.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
