    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Summary</span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">:</span></p>\n<p>The Physiotherapist provides services to help children and students to achieve their highest possible level of independent functioning within the school, home and community. These services include screening, assessment, consultation, program planning, treatment, administration, education and research. The therapist provides services for early childhood and school aged children that promote and improve the musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory and perceptual motor skills.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Duties and Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assesses and evaluates children’s physical abilities using standardized assessment tools and non-standardized assessment including observation, interview, and review of medical and developmental reports.</li>\n<li>Plans and develop goals for physio therapy services in consultation with the family and based on the assessment results and the priorities of the family.</li>\n<li>Provide direct therapy services to individual and groups of children and their families to implement physio therapy program based on established goals.</li>\n<li>Provide instruction, guidance and advice to families, childcare programs and other service providers on implementation of components of the physiotherapy program.</li>\n<li>Recommend adaptive equipment and provide specialized therapy services as needed to meet the child therapeutic needs. Refer families to other community services and professionals as needed.</li>\n<li>Liaise with school team, educators, community service providers and other professionals to ensure coordinated and consistent therapies and services. Participates in interdisciplinary team and family assessment, planning, direct services, and transition planning related to individual child and family services.</li>\n<li>Maintain related records and produces reports as required.</li>\n<li>Provide consultative and education services to families, caregivers, childcare providers, other service providers and the public.</li>\n<li>Maintain current knowledge on literature and research in the field.
