    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Position Description:</strong></p>\n<p>Are you a Safety and Health (S&amp;H) professional looking to have a career with a collaborative, diverse, and dynamic mining company? We have an opportunity for you!</p>\n<p>Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a S&amp;H Specialist at our Carlin Operations. The successful candidate will acclimate themselves to the work environment and perform duties related to the Safety and Health Profession.</p>\n<p>At Nevada Gold Mines, our vision is to be the world’s most valued gold mining business by finding, developing, and operating the best assets with the best people. We are committed to a safe work environment sending every person home safe and healthy every day and leaving a sustainable legacy on our host communities.</p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Act as a technical advisor and mentor to the site management team while working with Senior S&amp;H professionals to develop and implement strategies to control immediate risks in the workplace and find solutions to complex S&amp;H problems.</li>\n <li>Participate in internal S&amp;H inspections and audits to identify conditions, behaviors, corrective action implementation/compliance, and/or training related corrective actions and needs.</li>\n <li>Maintain a weekly to monthly overview plan for S&amp;H functions related to their assigned area or division.</li>\n <li>Work with all employees and staff to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company S&amp;H standards and systems.</li>\n <li>Accompany division management along with MSHA and State inspectors during inspections.</li>\n <li>Assist with health testing and industrial hygiene activities as needed.</li>\n <li>Serve as a resource or facilitator for incident investigations; ICAM or 5 Why analysis to ensure that all incidents are accurately investigated to determine root cause. Assist with development of meaningful and effective correction actions to prevent recurrence of safety incidents or industrial hygiene exposures. Ensure effectiveness reviews are conducted on corrective actions with participation of management and hourly personnel in the area or division.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Assist with accurate reporting of all incidents into approved system and development of flash, summary, senior leadership review reports as required.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Maintain accurate documentation and data entry in databases.</li>\n <li>Support and/or facilitate Formal Risk Assessments by developing and monitoring action plans.</li>\n <li>Maintain and sustain active involvement with division safety team, committees.</li>\n <li>Provide mentorship and support to all employees.</li>\n <li>Actively participate in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, and other training sessions.</li>\n <li>Develop and instruct MSHA topics during New Hire Orientation, Annual Refresher Training, and Business Partner Hazard Training and Introduction to Work Environment.</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Associates Degree and six (6) years' of experience in industry&nbsp;<strong>preferred</strong></li>\n <li>Bachelors Safety Degree and three (3) years' of experience&nbsp;<strong>preferred</strong></li>\n <li>Experience in at least 2 divisions within mining (a year per division)<strong>&nbsp;preferred</strong></li>\n <li>5 - 10 years' of experience in industry with proven/demonstrated Leadership in Safety&nbsp;<strong>preferred</strong></li>\n <li>Proven experience in working with peer groups and focus teams&nbsp;<strong>required</strong></li>\n <li>Proven communication skills with all levels of organization&nbsp;<strong>required</strong></li>\n <li>Ability to drive results and ensure completion of time sensitive deadlines&nbsp;<strong>required</strong></li>\n <li>Ability to work with confidential information required</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills<strong>&nbsp;required</strong></li>\n <li>Excellent leadership skills and knowledge of influencing others&nbsp;<strong>required</strong></li>\n <li>Ability to promote safety in training and lead by example&nbsp;<strong>required</strong></li>\n <li>Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook&nbsp;<strong>preferred</strong></li>\n <li>Proven safe work record<strong>&nbsp;required</strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What We Can Offer You</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>A comprehensive compensation package including&nbsp;a competitive medical, dental, and vision plan with national provider networks, a 401k retirement plan with employer contribution, paid time off, company-sponsored medical clinics, company match share purchase program, and much more!</li>\n <li>Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.</li>\n <li>Opportunities to grow and learn with the industry colleagues are endless.</li>\n <li>Access to a variety of career opportunities across the organization.</li>\n <li>Nevada Gold Mines is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><i>Thank you for your application, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.</i></p>",
