Location: Arion Court - 1814 Minor Ave, Seattle, WA
Reports To : Area Manager
Hours : Full Time - Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM
Pay Range : $23.15-$25.43 per hour
Position Type : Non-exempt position. This is unionized position, represented by Local 8 of the Office of Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU)
Responsibilities:
Perform and schedule routine janitorial and light maintenance of common areas, grounds maintenance, garbage removal and weeding, replacing locks and light bulbs, performing minor carpentry and painting. Respond to light maintenance or cleaning emergencies as needed. Respond to shelter clients’ concerns and questions regarding the building’s cleanliness and report maintenance needs to the Special Projects Manager. Inspect the building’s interior and exterior each work day for graffiti, damage, lighting not working and any apparent safety hazards. Assist the Special Projects Manager with site inspections, at time of turnover or as needed, helping to create work requests for maintenance needs. Inventory – maintain basic cleaning and light maintenance supplies. Prepare units, including light maintenance, cleaning, painting and helping coordinate any vendor work for new intake for the units in a timely manner. C omplete LIHI work orders for all non-routine cleaning and grounds work. Also use work requests to document all repair and non-routine work. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
One year building maintenance or janitorial experience. Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Experience working with low-income people Experience working with a diverse population. Excellent written and verbal skills. Must pass background and drug screening test

LIHI is one of the largest nonprofit housing organizations in the state. Our properties are located in Seattle, King County, and five adjacent counties. LIHI is a national leader in sponsoring tiny house villages as a crisis solution to homelessness. Annually, the tiny house villages and shelters serve 2,000 homeless people and our hygiene programs serve over 8,000 homeless people.
