    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Stamford Health has an opportunity for a full-time Surgical Technologist in Stamford, CT. This position is 37.5 hours a week in our Stamford Health Tully Center assisting with ambulatory surgery.</p><p><strong>Schedule:</strong> <strong>Monday-Friday rotating between 7am-3pm and 9am-5pm. No weekends, no overnights, no on call.&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Sign on bonus: </strong>15,000 new grads, 20,000 1-2 years’ experience, 30,000 2+ years’ experience&nbsp;</p><p style=\"background-color: white; line-height: normal;\">As a Certified Great Place to Work organization, Stamford Health understands what it takes to attract talent to improve our workforce and support our mission, to that end we offer:</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"background-color: white; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); line-height: normal;\">Competitive salary</li><li style=\"background-color: white; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); line-height: normal;\">Comprehensive, low-cost health insurance plans (including GLP-1 coverage options) available day one</li><li style=\"background-color: white; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); line-height: normal;\">Wellness programs</li><li style=\"background-color: white; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); line-height: normal;\">Paid Time Off accruals</li><li style=\"background-color: white; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); line-height: normal;\">Tax deferred annuity and (403b) pension plan</li><li style=\"background-color: white; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); line-height: normal;\">Tuition reimbursement</li><li style=\"background-color: white; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); line-height: normal;\">Free on-site parking and train station shuttle</li><li style=\"background-color: white; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); line-height: normal;\">Childcare partnership with Children’s Learning Center&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Under direct supervision of the RN, assists the surgical team by acting as the primary scrub person who handles instruments, supplies and equipment during surgical procedures.&nbsp;</li><li>Provides safe patient care by verifying patient identification and assuring the presence of the necessary instrumentation, supplies, equipment, and implants.&nbsp;</li><li>Adhere to aseptic practices to protect patients from injury, minimize wound contamination and reduce patient risk for surgical site infection.</li><li>Demonstrates the ability to problem solve in relation to the procedure being performed and respond appropriately to emergencies or changes in procedure.</li><li>Demonstrates attention to detail and anticipates surgeon’s needs when scrubbed on any surgical procedure.&nbsp;</li><li>Assumes responsibility for accurate sponge, sharp and instrument counts, correct medication labeling on the sterile field and correct handling and labeling of specimens.</li><li>Cross trains and rotates to other clinical areas in Perioperative Services as needed.<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><p>Must meet one or more of the following requirements in compliance with CT regulations:&nbsp;</p><p>(1) Successfully completed a nationally accredited surgical technology program and holds and maintains certification as a surgical technologist (certification must be within 6 months of hire date) from a national certifying body that certifies surgical technologists recognized by the Department of Public Health.</p><p>(2) (A) Successfully completed an accredited surgical technologist program, (B) has not, as of the date of hire, obtained certification as a surgical technologist from a national certifying body that certifies surgical technologists recognized by the Department of Public Health, and (C) obtains such certification not later than 18 months after completion of such program or 6 months from date of hire.&nbsp;</p><p>(3) Performed surgical technology services as a surgical technologist in a health care facility on or before October 1, 2023, provided the health care facility employing or retaining such person as a surgical technologist under this subsection obtains proof of such person's prior experience as a surgical technologist from such person and makes it available to the Department of Public Health upon request of the department.&nbsp;</p><p>(4) Successfully completed a training program for surgical technology in the armed forces of the United States, the National Guard or in the United States Public Health Services; or&nbsp;</p><p>(5) Has been designated by the health care facility as being competent to perform surgical technology services based on specialized training or specific experience, including, but not limited to, as a phlebotomist, nuclear medical technologist, ultrasound technologist or central service technician, provided the health care facility retains a list of such designations deemed by such facility to be competent to perform such services. Licensed Professional Scope of Practice Exemption (c) Nothing in this section shall prohibit a person from performing surgical technology services if such person is acting within the scope of such person's license, certification, registration, permit or designation, or is a student or intern under the direct supervision of a health care provider</p><p><strong>BLS certification required</strong></p>",
