Requirements:
Staff shall be hired with the goal of becoming welcoming, recovery-oriented, and co-occurring competent to engage all individuals receiving services in empathetic, hopeful, integrated relationships to help them address multiple issues successfully and shall support agency efforts to accomplish this. A graduate level degree in the human services field is required as well as license eligibility by the Virginia Board of Health Sciences as an LCP, LCSW, or LPC. The incumbent must be a Certified CSB Prescreener. Previous internship or work experience with the mentally disabled or substance abusing population in areas of counseling and treatment is required. Experience in crisis intervention with chronically mentally ill is preferred. A flexible schedule may be required to meet the needs of the agency/program. Travel throughout the catchment area may be required. Medical examinations including the utilization of medical tests may be required.
DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent is responsible for the provision of outpatient clinical services, consultation and case management services within the assigned program site. He/she provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment through a variety of modalities and procedures for those individuals suffering from mental illness, emotional disorders, co-occurring disorders, substance abuse and development disabilities. He/she provides crisis intervention, pre-screening for hospitalization, and referral for community support services. Every preadmission screening evaluator shall be hired with the goal of welcoming individuals with co-occurring disorders and performing hopeful engagement and integrated screening and assessment. Every preadmission screening evaluator hired after July 1, 2008 shall meet the educational qualifications endorsed in October 2007 by the Department and the Virginia Association of Community Services Boards. Every preadmission screening evaluator shall complete the certification program approved by the Department, and documentation of satisfactory completion shall be accessible for review. Case managers employed or contracted by the Board shall meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities qualifications in the Case Management Licensing Regulations, 12 VAC 35-105-1250. (see below). Case managers shall be hired with the goal of becoming welcoming, recovery-oriented, and co-occurring competent to engage all individuals receiving services in empathetic, hopeful, integrated relationships to help them address multiple issues successfully. He/she is directly responsible and accountable to the Clinic Supervisor. OSHA regulations apply to this position. This position is designated as a Level Two with regard to the HIPAA Privacy Rule. The position is exempt for FLSA.
