    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer (Senior) to support the MODES III program supporting Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP). In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for architecting, leading, and delivering complex, secure, cloud native applications and microservices (AWS GovCloud IL2/IL4/IL5), ensuring scalability, resilience, and RMF/ATO alignment. This position is remote and requires an active Secret clearance. </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for architecting, leading, and delivering complex, secure, cloud native applications and microservices (AWS GovCloud IL2/IL4/IL5), ensuring scalability, resilience, and RMF/ATO alignment. </li>\n <li>Designs enterprise API contracts, secure data ingestion pipelines to the data lake, containerized deployments (K8s/EKS), autoscaling and observability, and HA patterns for production services. </li>\n <li>Drives DevSecOps practices: CI/CD with security gates (SAST/DAST), automated deployment/rollback, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), and production runbooks. </li>\n <li>Leads database architecture and backup/DR design, defines RTO/RPO, conducts DR exercises, and directs production incident response and post incident reviews. </li>\n <li>Provides technical leadership to cross functional teams (UX, analytics, security), defines telemetry and web health KPIs for dashboards, and authors RMF/ATO artifacts and eMASS inputs. </li>\n <li>Familiar with: AWS (EKS, Lambda, RDS), Docker/Kubernetes, Terraform, SAST/DAST tools, and Oracle RAC. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Clearance Requirement: Active Secret clearance required. </li>\n <li>Experience: 10+ years relevant experience with BS/BA or 12+ years with AS/AA or 14 years w/o a degree or 8 years Experience with MS/MA or 6 years with PHD</li>\n <li>Certifications: This role requires a demonstration of capability within the Cyberspace IT workforce. Successful applicants must satisfy Foundational Qualification standards via an approved industry certification (e.g., A+ or Network+) or documented equivalent military/educational training as defined in the DoD 8140 Qualification Matrix. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Eligible for Top Secret/SCI clearance. </li>\n <li>AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialty) or equivalent cloud certifications. </li>\n <li>Experience with cloud-native data pipelines, analytics platforms, or data lake architectures. </li>\n <li>Familiarity with NIST RMF, ATO processes, and DoD security compliance frameworks. </li>\n <li>Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and microservices architectures. </li>\n <li>CompTIA Security+ </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Worklocation:</strong> Remote with the ability to travel to the NCR</p>\n<h2>Peraton Overview</h2>\n<p>Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
