    "description": "<h2>Opportunity Information</h2>\n<p>Since 1994, the Institute for Health & Healing (IHH) at Sutter Health has been a pioneer in integrative health care — California’s first state-certified clinic combining conventional medicine with evidence-based complementary therapies.</p>\n<p>As part of IHH in San Francisco, you will join a mission-driven, philanthropy-based community and employee-care program dedicated to whole-person wellness.</p>\n<p>Our team-based model emphasizes team collaboration, prevention, and personalized healing journeys.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Team Structure & Culture:</strong>You will be part of an expansive and diverse integrative health team, including:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>4 primary-care integrative medicine physicians</li>\n <li>3 nurse practitioners</li>\n <li>2 specialty integrative medicine physicians</li>\n <li>Chiropractor</li>\n <li>2 acupuncturists</li>\n <li>2 massage therapists</li>\n <li>Nutritionist</li>\n <li>2 psychotherapists</li>\n</ul>\n<p>This rich multidisciplinary mix enables a robust “mind, body, spirit” approach — allowing you to engage in integrative physician consults, coordinate care, and partner with complementary-therapy colleagues to deliver personalized whole-person care.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Position Details:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Full-time position, .8–1.0 FTE (flexible within that range)</li>\n <li>Outpatient setting; no inpatient or call responsibilities</li>\n <li>Incorporate both conventional and complementary therapies — including nutrition, mind-body practices, supplements, and lifestyle medicine — into personalized treatment plans.</li>\n <li>Serve as a physician consultant for patients referred by Sutter colleagues or community providers who are seeking integrative approaches to complex or chronic conditions.</li>\n <li>Support continuity and quality of care by maintaining accurate, timely documentation within the electronic health record.</li>\n <li>Participate in community education, employee wellness programs, and philanthropic initiatives promoting whole-person health.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Core Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited medical school.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Completion of an accredited residency (family medicine, internal medicine, or specialty)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred or Specialized Qualifications</strong></p>\n<p>Integrative/Functional Medicine Training:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Formal fellowship training (1–2 years) or certification in Integrative Medicine, Functional Medicine (IFM), or a similar program.</li>\n <li>Experience integrating complementary modalities such as acupuncture, nutrition, mind-body medicine, herbal medicine, mindfulness, or yoga therapy.</li>\n <li>Board Certification in Integrative Medicine through the American Board of Integrative Medicine (ABOIM) or completion of an approved fellowship in Integrative Medicine highly preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Philosophical Alignment:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Demonstrated interest in whole-person care — mind, body, and spirit.</li>\n   <li>Comfort working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, NPs, acupuncturists, nutritionists, and behavioral health specialists.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Join Us and Enjoy</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Generous benefits, CME allowance, relocation assistance</li>\n <li>Work within a premier multi-specialty medical group (Sutter West Bay Medical Group & Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation) giving you infrastructure support so you focus on patient-care and integrative healing</li>\n <li>Work in San Francisco, one of the world’s most dynamic cities, rich in culture, outdoor recreation, arts, fine dining and holistic-health demand</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Organization Details</h2>\n<p>Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) is a premier multi-specialty medical group made up of over 400 physicians practicing in the greater San Francisco service area.
