Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is a rapidly growing construction management and engineering company within the Quanta Services (Quanta) family of companies. Quanta, the largest civil construction work force in North America focused on the Power Generation and Transmission Sector, is meeting the nation’s energy, utility, and communication needs head on. QISG is seeking project civil engineering professionals interested in working to support large-scale engineering and construction projects throughout North America by providing civil site design solutions to our construction partners and clients.</p>\n<p><strong>About this Role</strong></p>\n<p>A Project Civil Engineer within QISG is involved in a variety of projects with a focus on civil site, access, and drainage design and an emphasis on design-build delivery methods for large-scale energy substation and transmission-related projects. Collaborating with an in-house, multi-disciplinary engineering and construction team — including civil, structural, geotechnical, construction management, and construction experts — the Project Civil Engineer plays a crucial role in providing civil and drainage design solutions on projects; responsibilities include supporting design production, contributing to the development of construction drawings and specifications, and engineering support during construction. </p>\n<p>This role is an office-based position with a primary focus on executing civil design that includes permitting support, site layout, grading design, stormwater analysis, survey coordination, and civil construction inspections.  A successful candidate is able to utilize sound engineering judgement, field data collected by themselves or others, and digital technologies to develop economical solutions to support civil construction. He/she will receive guidance and mentoring from senior level professionals, as well as provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.   The Project Civil Engineer will develop leadership skills and will take on increasing responsibilities to communicate with project management, technical, construction, and company personnel as well as company leadership and to keep the project in scope, on schedule, and within budget.</p>\n<h2>What You'll Do</h2>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Execute assignments requiring application of standard and advanced engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out civil engineering tasks. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop civil construction specifications, assist in development of cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules.</li>\n <li>Support of substation and transmission line physical design consisting of layout, conduit, grounding, site and work pad development, and erosion and sediment control.</li>\n <li>Perform basic stormwater calculations to size culverts, ditches, and stormwater retention/detention facilities using stormwater modeling software.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Interface closely with project-level and senior leadership personnel within the company, including geotechnical, geological, structural, transmission line, substation, and civil engineering, GIS, and construction management team members. </li>\n <li>Participate in oversight and management of subcontractor activities involved in drainage and grading designs and/or operations.</li>\n <li>Develop written reports and/or provide verbal communication of information in a professional and appropriate manner. </li>\n <li>Perform occasional site visits to project sites located throughout North America. </li>\n <li>Participation in sector focused professional organizations, and attendance and presentations at industry events. </li>\n <li>Work under supervision of Engineering Director and/or a Senior Engineer in a professional office setting. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Bring</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Experience and Education </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Required - bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field </li>\n <li>Required - Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure </li>\n <li>Required - minimum five (5) years of civil design experience</li>\n <li>Required - excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Required - experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Required - proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams </li>\n <li>Required - ability to work with moderate supervision and maximum efficiency in a small or medium size office setting </li>\n <li>Preferred – experience in electric utility design (substation and transmission line -  15 kV to 500 kV)</li>\n <li>Preferred - MicroStation Inroads design experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to lift 40 lbs at times.</li>\n <li>Must be able to bend, lift, climb, and walk on uneven surfaces.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Travel Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Varies based on seasonal and project requirements: estimated as up to 25% of the work year.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Get</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive Compensation</li>\n <li>401(k) Retirement Plan</li>\n <li>Holiday Pay</li>\n <li>Paid Time Off (PTO)</li>\n <li>Comprehensive Health Coverage</li>\n <li>Pet Insurance</li>\n <li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP)</li>\n <li>Professional Development</li>\n <li>Tuition Assistance</li>\n <li>Employee Discount Program</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Equal Opportunity Employer</h2>\n<p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
