Description

Management Services Corporation (MSC) , one of The Caton Companies, is central Virginia's leading property management company. We are looking for energetic and motivated individuals who want a great career at a growing company. We are seeking full-time, experienced Landscape Crew Leader. Responsible for managing and overseeing all landscaping work on properties, including lawn & garden care and landscaping maintenance. Must be available to work Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and overtime/weekends as needed. $20.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on skills/experience. Main Duties Supervise all lawn management service activities of crew Ensure all crew members know the property, including scope of work and overall plan for property Train crew members and ensure they have tools needed to complete jobs efficiently Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget Perform all timekeeping activities for crew Ensure crew is performing all tasks safely, following strict Company and industry safety guidelines, including 100% PPE during work activities Ensure completion of daily activities, including gathering of supplies, cleaning of trucks, organization of trailers Use landscaping tools and operate heavy equipment as needed Keep all equipment in good condition: includes cleaning equipment, tagging equipment with issues, changing oil, blades, air filters as per maintenance schedule Coordinate with management, customers, and other employees as needed Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Overtime and weekend work as required, including on-call snow removal during and after snow events. Work is in Charlottesville, Virginia. Reliable commute or relocation to this area is required before starting work. Required Education, Skills, and Experience High School Diploma/GED Valid Virginia driver license with acceptable DMV record in order to drive Company-owned vehicles Minimum 2 years experience in a landscaping or groundskeeping role Must be able to safely operate maintenance equipment, including tractors, mowers, leaf blowers, and aerators (or be willing to learn) Lift 50 pounds and handle the physical demands of and outdoors job, including standing, bending, pulling, and climbing Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Work well with a team or independently when necessary Ability to work in a variety of outside conditions for long periods of time Adhere to strict safety precautions Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations preferred The Benefits Competitive compensation Comprehensvive Health, Dental, and Vision insurance Flexible Spending Program (FSA) availalbe 401K Program with 4% company match 8 paid holidays plus 1 personal floating holiday 120 hours of accrued Paid Time Off (PTO) accrued the first year MSC is an Equal Opportunity Employer #landscapeworker #msc #groundsjobs #charlottesville #groundscrewleader
