Supports compliance with the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) to improve patient safety. Seeks guidance and collaborates with BMET I through BMET IV. Takes direction from BMET Supervisor(s).</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>A day in the life of a <strong>Biomedical Equipment Technician, Bench</strong> at <strong>Hackensack Meridian <em>Health</em></strong> includes:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintains inventory of repair parts, supplies, and technical manuals necessary to maintain devices. </li>\n <li>Orders repair parts and/or components and supplies as required using the ERP system. </li>\n <li>Performs incoming inspections on new, trial, and demonstration equipment before they are placed into patient service.</li>\n <li>Oversee incoming and outgoing equipment for repair and maintain the equipment log. </li>\n <li>Performs preventive maintenance inspections procedures to optimize performance, reliability, and projected life expectancy of Medical Center instrumentation.</li>\n <li>Documents and refers high-risk device failures to the BMET I-IV for repair.</li>\n <li>Executes pick-ups and delivers instrumentations to the various hospital units for service and/or preventive maintenance, or supplies and equipment from local vendors as directed. </li>\n <li>Performs repairs on low-risk equipment, including IV pumps, under the supervision of BMET I through BMET IV technicians. </li>\n <li>Actively stays informed and knowledgeable about changes, enhancements, and new features and versions related to the equipment and machines with which you work. </li>\n <li>Must attend both on-the-job training as well as off-site and/or out-of-state training requiring travel that can include one or more overnight stays. </li>\n <li>May be required to travel to other Hackensack Meridian Health facilities as needed to ensure BMET service delivery is appropriately maintained. </li>\n <li>Will maintain good personal relationships with other team members, nursing and medical staff, vendors, manufacturers, and the general public. Will be expected to participate in meetings, seminars, training, workshops, and conferences as required. Will maintain a clean and safe workplace. </li>\n <li>Other duties and/or projects as assigned. </li>\n <li>Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior. </li>\n <li>Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6.0 hours a day.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs. </li>\n <li>Demonstrates proficiency using computer-based technology (i.e., Google email, calendars, etc).</li>\n <li>Demonstrates a basic understanding of a hospital's core function to the community. </li>\n <li>Demonstrates knowledge of current technology and its uses as it relates to healthcare.</li>\n <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li>\n <li>Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Some college education in a technical field.</li>\n <li>Minimum of 3-5 years technical/scientific experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>If you feel that the above description speaks directly to your strengths and capabilities, then please apply today!    </p>\n<h2>Starting Minimum Rate</h2>Minimum rate of $30.92 Hourly\n<h2>Job Posting Disclosure</h2>HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members.
