Description

ReLogic Research, Inc. is seeking a self-starting and highly-motivated individual to join our team! ReLogic’s central focus is to continually promote a culture that stimulates personal, professional, and intellectual growth, while developing elegant solutions to tough problems. We encourage teammates to be self-governing based on high standards of professionalism and judgement. The Senior CNC Machinist will be instrumental in maintaining and improving our quality management system to meet stringent DoD and AS9100D requirements. This position will directly impact the manufacturing quality of critical hardware produced for our Nation's defense. Primary Responsibilities Develop, write, and optimize 5-axis CNC programs for various multi-axis machining centers (e.g., Mazak, DMG Mori, Okuma, Haas) using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam). Create and edit G-code and M-code programs to ensure efficient and accurate machining of intricate aerospace and defense components from exotic materials such as Inconel, Titanium, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum alloys. Analyze engineering drawings, 3D models, specifications, and design requirements to determine optimal machining strategies, tooling, and fixturing. Perform comprehensive program validation through simulations (e.g., Vericut) to detect and resolve potential collisions, gouges, and other machining issues prior to physical setup. Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineers, machinists, and quality control personnel to troubleshoot issues, refine processes, and ensure product conformity and performance. Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices based on material, part geometry, and machining strategy. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization, cycle time reduction, and cost savings. Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001), and regulatory requirements relevant to the defense and aerospace industry. Document programming procedures, setup sheets, and best practices. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior programmers and machinists. Requirements & Desired Skills Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Technology, Metrology) or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in 5-axis CNC programming within the defense or aerospace industry. Proven expertise with at least one major CAM software package (Mastercam, preferred). Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and CAD models. In-depth knowledge of various cutting tools, inserts, and machining parameters for a wide range of materials. Experience with machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting of 5-axis CNC milling and/or mill-turn machines. Familiarity with simulation software (e.g., Vericut) for program validation. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a strong analytical mindset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. This is full-time salaried position with full benefits offered. Approximately 10% of travel is expected. ReLogic’s policy is to ensure equal employment opportunity without discrimination or harassment based on race, color, religion, gender (including pregnancy or childbirth), sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, age, citizenship, disability, military obligation, or any other characteristic protected by law. In cases of disability, ReLogic follows the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). ReLogic prohibits and does not tolerate discrimination or harassment. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
