Position Summary
Walsh University is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and passionate individual who is enthusiastic about contributing to a private, faithfully Catholic institution of higher learning and serving the common good. Student Experience at Walsh University has been structured to reflect the University's commitment to student development and retention.
The Director for Student Outreach and Support leads comprehensive initiatives aimed at enhancing student success, well-being, and engagement within our university community. The Director will promote campus wide education and prevention programs on topics related to health, wellness, violence, oppression and restorative justice. This position will serve as the Title IX Coordinator ensuring university compliance with federal guidelines. The Director will coordinate first-year orientation, Cav Cor Cordium and serve as the primary liaison for the Student Experience, coordinating with multiple stakeholders to create a welcoming environment for first year students.
This position reports to the Vice-President for Student Experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Campus Prevention Education and Outreach (50%):
Work with campus stakeholders to develop and implement education and prevention programs on topics related to health, wellness, violence, and restorative justice
Promote availability and visibility to the student body via effective utilization of office space, office hours and attendance/involvement in campus events
Develop and deliver training for students, faculty and staff
Serve as a point of contact for retention, with specific outreach to first year students
Work closely with CARe team to monitor academic, behavior and engagement data to identify and respond to students at risk
Conduct personalized outreach to students at risk, initiating structured check-ins following CARe team reported concerns
Orientation (25%)
Collaboration with the Office of Admissions, Financial aid, First Year Student Success and Advising for new student orientations, overseeing registration, day of event management and communication to new students and families throughout the summer months leading up to August matriculation
Directly oversee and co-advise the Cor Cordium Program providing support, updating training resources, coordinating mentee matching, and serving as a liaison between students and faculty/staff
Hire, train, and supervise the Cav Cor Cordium student workers
Serve as a member of the Orientation and Welcome Weekend planning committee
Assist the Student Experience team with the planning, coordinating, and implementing of Welcome Weekend and Welcome Week. This includes but is not limited to creating schedules, preparing materials, and coordinating day of logistics, etc
Develop effective marketing and promotional campaigns for all Orientation-sponsored events and for any other events including maintaining the Orientation social media account(s)
Title IX (25%)
Serve as the University’s designated Title IX Coordinator
Ensure institutional compliance with Title IX regulations
Maintain and update Title IX policies, procedures, and handbooks
Monitor regulatory changes and recommend institutional responses
Receive, assess, and manage reports of sexual misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation
Coordinate intake, supportive measures, and resolution options
Oversee informal and formal resolution processes

Must demonstrate an understanding the Walsh University Statement of Faith and a commitment to support the Mission, Vision , Values and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University in accordance with Ex Corde Ecclesiae and the Catholic intellectual tradition. Must also possess the following:
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, sociology, public health, higher education, or a related field.
Experience designing, implementing, and assessing in person or online educational workshops and passive/social medial educational and prevention campaigns for adults
Demonstrated excellence with interpersonal, written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of campus and community constituencies
Highly effective in coordinating projects according to established deadlines, budget and scope
Flexibility with work schedule as some evening and weekend programming will be required
Other Preferred Qualifications :
A Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, sociology, public health, higher education, or a related field
Experience working in higher education or educational work setting
Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.
Physical requirements of the job include prolonged sitting, extended periods of keyboard work and use of a computer monitor, some walking, occasional lifting and carrying objects no more than 20 pounds.

The Director will coordinate first-year orientation, Cav Cor Cordium and serve as the primary liaison for the Student Experience, coordinating with multiple stakeholders to create a welcoming environment for first year students.\\n\\nThis position reports to the Vice-President for Student Experience.\\n\\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\\n\\nThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:\\n\\nCampus Prevention Education and Outreach (50%): \\n\\n\\n\\tWork with campus stakeholders to develop and implement education and prevention programs on topics related to health, wellness, violence, and restorative justice\\n\\tPromote availability and visibility to the student body via effective utilization of office space, office hours and attendance/involvement in campus events\\n\\tDevelop and deliver training for students, faculty and staff \\n\\tServe as a point of contact for retention, with specific outreach to first year students\\n\\tWork closely with CARe team to monitor academic, behavior and engagement data to identify and respond to students at risk\\n\\tConduct personalized outreach to students at risk, initiating structured check-ins following CARe team reported concerns\\n\\n\\nOrientation (25%)\\n\\n\\n\\tCollaboration with the Office of Admissions, Financial aid, First Year Student Success and Advising for new student orientations, overseeing registration, day of event management and communication to new students and families throughout the summer months leading up to August matriculation\\n\\tDirectly oversee and co-advise the Cor Cordium Program providing support, updating training resources, coordinating mentee matching, and serving as a liaison between students and faculty/staff \\n\\tHire, train, and supervise the Cav Cor Cordium student workers\\n\\tServe as a member of the Orientation and Welcome Weekend planning committee\\n\\tAssist the Student Experience team with the planning, coordinating, and implementing of Welcome Weekend and Welcome Week. This includes but is not limited to creating schedules, preparing materials, and coordinating day of logistics, etc\\n\\tDevelop effective marketing and promotional campaigns for all Orientation-sponsored events and for any other events including maintaining the Orientation social media account(s)\\n\\n\\n Title IX (25%)\\n\\n\\n\\tServe as the University’s designated Title IX Coordinator\\n\\tEnsure institutional compliance with Title IX regulations\\n\\tMaintain and update Title IX policies, procedures, and handbooks\\n\\tMonitor regulatory changes and recommend institutional responses\\n\\tReceive, assess, and manage reports of sexual misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation\\n\\tCoordinate intake, supportive measures, and resolution options\\n\\tOversee informal and formal resolution processes\\n\\n\\nThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) of this position.
