Reasonable accommodation may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.<br><br>Obtain blood specimens from patients per laboratory orders by performing venipunctures and heel sticks.<br><br>Obtain and handle other types of specimens including urine, stool, sputum, etc.<br><br>Obtain Nose Swabs for COVID testing<br><br>Communicate with and always assist patients in a professional and courteous manner.<br><br>Identify the patient and access the correct patient record by using at least 2 forms of identification while observing HIPPA requirements.<br><br>Enter or update patient demographics through the ADM registration module and order tests using correct mnemonics in an accurate and timely manner<br><br>Complete input of lab requisition forms and produce appropriate labels, prepare specimens for transport by following specific handling requirements<br><br>Order and maintain adequate laboratory supplies including checking for expired supplies<br><br>Daily cleaning of draw station including record keeping and equipment maintenance<br><br>Follow policies, SOP (standard operating procedure), regulatory guidelines, and safety guidelines<br><br>Ability to work independently or in a team environment<br><br>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Perform other duties as assigned.</strong><br><strong>Competencies:</strong><br><br>Knowledge of basic medical laboratory principles, standards, applications and tests.<br><br>Knowledge of and ability to access medical laboratory safety, cleanliness and infection control policies and regulations.<br><br>Knowledge of medical laboratory equipment uses and maintenance.<br><br>Accuracy – Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.<br><br>Communication – Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.<br>Competencies (con’t):<br><br>Computer Skills – Proficient ability to use computer and programs related to patient information and specimen entry. EPIC knowledge a +.<br><br>Confidentiality – Maintain patient, team member and employer confidentiality. Comply with all HIPAA regulations.<br><br>Customer Service – Friendly, cheerful and helpful to patients and others. Ability to meet patient needs while following office policies and procedures.<br><br>Detail Oriented – Ability to pay attention to the minute details of order entry and specimen collection processing<br><br>Flexibility – Ability to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities. Including schedule changes to provide coverage needed at any SH draw station<br><br>Positivity – Display a positive attitude and is a positive agent for change.<br><br>Teamwork – Work as part of a team and collaborate with co-workers.<br><br>Working Under Pressure – Able to address and resolve problems timely while maintaining a professional and courteous manner.<br>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Education and Experience:</strong><br><br>High school diploma or equivalent required<br><br>Minimum 2+ years phlebotomy experience required<br><br>Phlebotomy Certification required<br><br>Must have own car, as travel is required<br>Work</p>",
