Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Novelis has approximately 13,000 employees in 32 operating facilities on 4 continents.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities & Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Novelis North America (NNA) is seeking a Plant Controller to join the leadership team at our Bay Minette, AL fully integrated facility. This role has a wide range of responsibilities including handling all plant controlling and internal controls activities to ensure accurate financial results and provide management with the necessary information required to make sound business decisions. This role is responsible for forecasting and leading plant operational expenses and managing spend related to capital projects. This role will report to the Regional Controller.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Be an active member of the core plant management team providing guidance to non-financial team members.</li>\n <li>Prepare and record monthly accounting entries and conduct all required reconciliations to ensure closing process meets company deadlines with accurate information.</li>\n <li>Prepare plant financial reports including monthly summaries for regional reporting along with monthly analysis of spending to plant management team.</li>\n <li>Prepare quarterly reports to corporate accounting for quarter end financial reporting.</li>\n <li>Develop and run annual plan and quarterly forecast for the plant.</li>\n <li>Supervise and report capital expenditures to plant management team and region management.</li>\n <li>Provide oversight and coordination of accounting functions related to sustaining and strategic capital projects including preparation of financial justifications.</li>\n <li>Perform monthly and ad hoc variance analysis to find opportunities and possibilities for improvement in financial performance and be able to discuss findings with senior management.</li>\n <li>Participate in cross-functional events including Novelis Operating System (NOS) productivity and loss teams.</li>\n <li>Ensure that periodic fixed asset verification is performed, and proper documentation maintained.</li>\n <li>Periodically review internal processes for improvement in timeliness, accuracy, and efficiency automating these processes where feasible.</li>\n <li>Identify growth opportunities or training needs for continual staff development.</li>\n <li>Adopt and promote the Novelis cultural beliefs of Be Open, Build Trust, Say Anything, Be Authentic.</li>\n <li>Adhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Minimum qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from an accredited college or university is required.</li>\n <li>Minimum 8 years accounting with 3 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred Plant Controller).</li>\n <li>Must have a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.</li>\n <li>Be a role model for leading and developing a positive, team-oriented culture.</li>\n <li>Ability to perform work accurately and independently.</li>\n <li>Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.</li>\n <li>Proficient in Microsoft office programs.</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal, math, and writing skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Preferred qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Master’s degree, CPA/CMA is a plus.</li>\n <li>SAP and OneStream experience is a plus.</li>\n <li>Strong communication skills with the ability to convey and explain complex policies and guidelines.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodations </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to move materials of up to 35 pounds.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What We Offer:</strong></p>\n<p>Novelis' benefits say a lot about how we care for each other. This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kind. It will primarily serve our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
