    "description": "<h2>Company Overview</h2>\n<p>South Georgia North Florida Eye Partners offers a variety of eye care services from detection and medical treatment of eye diseases and injuries to advanced procedures including Lasik and cataract surgeries. We also have an on-site Optical Shop that carries the latest in designer frames and sunglasses. We offer several locations including Valdosta, Tifton and Douglas.</p>\n<h2>Position Summary</h2>\n<p>The Optician must be able to work with our diverse base of customers (i.e. pediatric, adolescent, and adult) by delivering quality optical care and outstanding and friendly customer service establishing customer loyalty. The Optician must be able to assist patients with eyeglasses ordering and fittings. The Optician must also possess strong sales skills by demonstrating a high level of knowledge about our products and determining our patient's need for eyewear to recommend specific accessories and or enhancement for glasses.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Interpretation of prescriptions written by ophthalmologists and optometrists </li>\n <li>Communicate with physician regarding questions or concerns about prescriptions and other eye-related issues </li>\n <li>Inspect lenses to detect flaws, verify prescription, progressive measurements, lens enhancements and coatings.</li>\n <li>Measure bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers, using measuring devices </li>\n <li>Mount and secure lenses in holding tools or chucks for cutting, polishing, and or grinding</li>\n <li>Assist in selecting frames according to style and color, and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions </li>\n <li>Recommend specific lenses, lens coating, other lens enhancements, and frames to suit patient needs</li>\n <li>Recommend appropriate contact lenses after considering the prescription and the patient's lifestyle needs </li>\n <li>Verify that finished lenses are ground to specifications </li>\n <li>Create work orders for lab technicians to ensure delivery of the proper lenses </li>\n <li>Set up machines to polish, bevel, edge, or grind lenses -</li>\n <li>Heat, shape, or bend plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to properly fit </li>\n <li>Shape lenses appropriately so that they can be inserted into frames</li>\n <li>Repair broken/damaged frames </li>\n <li>Educate on proper wear, care of eyeglasses, and contact lens </li>\n <li>Inspect lenses to detect flaws, verify prescription, progressive measurements, lens enhancements and coatings.</li>\n <li>Determine clients' current lens prescriptions, when necessary, using lensometers or lens analyzers, and mark up progressives correctly </li>\n <li>Sell and Dispense contact lenses under supervision of physician or LDO</li>\n <li>Place contact lens orders with appropriate vendors</li>\n <li>Instructs patients on proper insertion, removal, and proper care for contact lenses</li>\n <li>Verifies information in the fitting of contacts by using a lensometer, slit lamp, keratometer, and/or radius scope to order specification(s).</li>\n <li>Troubleshoot patient RX issues and act as a liaison between patient and physician</li>\n <li>Maintain Contact Lens Trial Inventory</li>\n <li>Inventory - Properly document, track, and follow-up on patient orders to ensure superb customer service</li>\n <li>Arrange and maintain displays of optical merchandise </li>\n <li>Attend training workshops/meetings as scheduled </li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li> High School Diploma or GED required </li>\n <li> ABO Certified </li>\n <li> Minimum 2 years eyecare experience required </li>\n <li> Minimum Associates or equivalent and on-the-job training or post-secondary education </li>\n <li>Ability to demonstrate eye–hand coordination, manual/finger dexterity, agility, and color vision and depth perception with visual acuity correctable to 20/25 while fitting eyeglasses and contacts</li>\n <li> Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint </li>\n <li> Team player that develops strong collaborative working relationships with internal partners and can effectively engage and to build consensus among cross-functional teams</li>\n <li> Strong computer knowledge and skills with a minimum typing speed of 30 AW PM Able to navigate multiple system applications </li>\n <li> Ability to effectively communicate </li>\n <li> Professionalism </li>\n <li> Multi-tasking </li>\n <li> Time Management </li>\n <li> Organizational Skills </li>\n <li> Attention to Detail </li>\n <li> Able to navigate multiple system applications.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred Skills: </p>\n<ul>\n <li> Prior retail sales or work in the healthcare industry (preferred)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Company Benefits</h2>\n<p>We offer a competitive benefits package to our employees:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical</li>\n <li>Dental</li>\n <li>Vision</li>\n <li>401k w/ Match</li>\n <li>HSA/FSA</li>\n <li>Telemedicine</li>\n <li>Generous PTO Package</li>\n</ul>\n<p>We also offer the following benefits for FREE:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Employee Discounts and Perks</li>\n <li>Employee Assistance Program</li>\n <li>Group Life/AD&D </li>\n <li>Short Term Disability Insurance </li>\n <li>Long Term Disability Insurance </li>\n</ul>\n<p>EyeSouth Partners is an equal opportunity employer.
