The Project Manager 2/ Superintendent 3 will be responsible for and lead projects $500k and provide oversight to Superintendent 2’s as necessary. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Duties include but are not limited to:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Initiate the investigation of abnormal events, incidents, and /or accidents to identify the root cause and assist in implementing appropriate corrective actions;</li>\n <li>Serve as a Control Account Manager (CAM) responsible for planning, budgeting, managing, and controlling costs and schedule performance for a project or subproject and serve as a point of contact for project controls, including account scope, schedule, budget and technical performance;</li>\n <li>Lead constructability reviews of the design process and the potential impacts to construction cost and schedule;</li>\n <li>Provide personal leadership, direction and technical advice regarding health, safety and environmental compliance;</li>\n <li>Ensure work packages realistically represent the duration and budget necessary to perform work and perform variance analysis reviews, determine cause an effect of schedule or cost variance and define achievable corrective action plans; and</li>\n <li>Present project management performance plans, status updates, trends or issues to federal sponsors may be required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Education and Licensure</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Recognized degree in engineering or scientific discipline, or specialized courses in project management. (required)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills, Experience and Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>At least ten (10) years' work experience (5+ years' experience in at least one of the following functions: engineering, procurement and construction) leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge described above, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)</li>\n <li>Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship. (required)</li>\n <li>Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance. (required)</li>\n <li>Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required) </li>\n <li>Possess strong personal computer skills. </li>\n <li>Advanced experience managing construction projects including proactively managing project scope, schedule and budget including Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience identifying project risks, developing risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions, and recommending risk acceptance/avoidance for all aspects of a project.</li>\n <li>Proven leadership and management skills (organize, direct, control) a team of workers, including work schedules, project progress and resource allocation.</li>\n <li>Advanced experience managing construction projects including proactively managing project scope, schedule and budget including Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience identifying project risks, developing risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions, and recommending risk acceptance/avoidance for all aspects of a project.</li>\n <li>Advanced knowledge of all phases and complexity levels of construction projects, upgrades, renovations and D&D.</li>\n <li>Extensive knowledge and experience with facility maintenance and/or construction management including systems engineering design and maintenance, safety/authorization basis, configuration management programs, work control and facility control systems.</li>\n <li>Extensive knowledge and understanding of collective bargaining agreements related to all trades.</li>\n <li>Extensive understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong and effective customer engagement.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience interfacing with program, project, and line management to develop clear and executable action plans to address issues or needs.</li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills that includes reporting on project status to senior level management, project stakeholders, as well as regulatory inquiries.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated skill in the preparation and presentation of oral and written reports.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system in maintaining and tracking job activities including the coordination of materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience and skill in identifying problem areas, investigating alternative solutions and establishing a recovery Plan/Path forward.</li>\n <li>Ability to determine actions to be performed on problems affecting maintenance programs.</li>\n <li>Nuclear experience. (required)</li>\n <li>Required to work a flexible schedule- Days, Nights, and Weekends. </li>\n <li>Los Alamos, New Mexico, - TA 55 and ALDPI</li>\n <li>Must be willing to work flexible schedule and swing shifts. </li>\n <li>Initial 1 year assignment with possibility of extension up to 5 years.</li>\n</ul>",
