    "description": "<h2>Nature and Scope</h2>\n<p>The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for all pre-analytical aspects of specimen collection, receiving specimens, handling of specimens, and processing specimens to include sending specimens to reference laboratories. This includes transferring ordered tests to the LIS (Laboratory Information System) or appropriate lab slips, processing billing information and charging.
