We are searching for a <strong>Research and Development Engineer </strong>to join our team located at our facility in <strong>Albany, OR</strong>. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Your Role:</strong></p>\n<p>The <strong>Research and Development Engineer</strong> will lead projects driving the next generation of sustainable, high-performance products. This role owns multiple initiatives from concept through commercialization, including new materials, tooling design, and process trials. The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with manufacturing experience and thrives in a fast-paced applied R&D environment where ideas move rapidly from prototype to production. You are data-driven, proactive, and thrive in an environment that rewards curiosity, ownership, and pace.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>We need you to have:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. (Advanced degrees with related experience)</li>\n <li>5+ years of experience in manufacturing, product development, or applied R&D (injection molding or extrusion preferred).</li>\n <li>Proven ability to lead hands-on trials, analyze complex data, and translate insights into actionable improvements.</li>\n <li>Deep understanding of polymers, tooling design, and processing principles.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in SolidWorks, Excel, and statistical analysis tools; experience with DOE and structured data analysis required.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly across levels.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated drive for innovation, curiosity, and continuous improvement.</li>\n <li>Passion for sustainability, materials innovation, and transforming concepts into scalable manufacturing solutions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Icing on the cake:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering. </li>\n <li>10+ years of applicable experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>If you answer yes to the following…we want to meet you!</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Intellectual Curiosity: Do you have an inquisitive nature?</li>\n <li>Problem Solving: Do you have a knack for tackling issues head-on?  </li>\n <li>Entrepreneurship: Do you enjoy taking ownership of your work? </li>\n <li>Customer Centricity: Do you always act in the best interests of the customer, putting their needs first?  </li>\n <li>Growth Mindset: Do you focus on progress rather than perfection? </li>\n <li>Continuous Improvement: Are you never satisfied with the status quo?  </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Want to know more?
