The hospital features emergency and critical care, surgical suites, and specialized programs such as imaging, cardiac rehab, sleep disorder care, and hyperbaric medicine, all in a family-oriented environment focused on exceptional patient care.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary: </strong></p>\n<p>Under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, provides treatment programs for physical therapy patients as defined by State Practice Act. Monitors patients' progress and modifies treatment plans as per the physical therapist.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Clinical practice – Administers treatment programs, including specialized treatment\n  <ul>\n   <li>Adheres to the \"Definition and Utilization of the Physical Therapist Assistant\" as stated in the current American Physical Therapy Association policy.</li>\n   <li>Monitors patient progress and makes recommendations to the physical therapist in accordance with patient needs and evidence based practice.</li>\n   <li>Documents patient progress in medical records for assigned patients.</li>\n   <li>Provides input for patient care and discharge planning with other health professionals.</li>\n   <li>Meets established targets for passive/active treatment ratios</li>\n   <li>Involves patient and family in treatment, education and goal setting. Coordinates with other medical personnel regarding patient’s progress, needs and discharge planning.</li>\n   <li>Demonstrates knowledge and competency including providing for age-specific needs of the population served.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li> Serves as a resource person for support staff and other health system staff\n  <ul>\n   <li>Assists with training, orientation and supervision of support staff.</li>\n   <li>Assumes responsibility for the educational development of assigned PTA students.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li> Maintains and updates patient documentation in accordance with professional, departmental, organizational, and payer guidelines and timeframes. Maintains established targets for compliance with chart audits.</li>\n <li> Meets established target for: \n  <ul>\n   <li>Quality/outcome measures</li>\n   <li>Service/patient satisfaction measures</li>\n   <li>Financial/productivity measures</li>\n   <li>Growth/patients-per-day measures</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li> Demonstrates leadership including, but not limited to:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Supervision of support staff</li>\n   <li>Participates in professional organization/meetings (TPTA, APTA)</li>\n   <li>Volunteers for Covenant Health activities such as the marathon, golf tournament, sports physicals, employee education, etc.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Complete partnering activities per established targets per month. \n  <ul>\n   <li>Physician office visits</li>\n   <li>Community lectures/volunteer</li>\n   <li>Case Manager visits/marketing</li>\n   <li>Provide in-services</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li> Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.</li>\n <li> Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Education</strong>: </p>\n<p>None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Experience:          </strong></p>\n<p>One (1) year experience preferred.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Licensure Requirement:</strong>       </p>\n<p>Current Tennessee Physical Therapist Assistant license. CPR required.</p>",
