    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>As a non-transport provider, the Paramedic’s primary tasks are to initiate basic and advanced life support care to ill and injured guests and team members, and respond to medical/trauma calls in an amusement park setting.  All Paramedics need to have strong work ethic and be must able to operate within I.D.P.H. Region X’s EMT-P scope of practice.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide basic and advanced emergency and non-emergency medical care to team members and guests in accordance with established park and Region X System protocols.</li>\n <li>Triage patients when multiple calls or patients overwhelm available personnel; make appropriate determinations about dispositions and transports</li>\n <li>Use an electronic tablet for documenting reports</li>\n <li>Complete checks on bags, monitors, drugs, vehicles, and treatment areas before, during, and after each shift; restock supplies as necessary.</li>\n <li>Assist BLS crews on calls when requested and sufficient personnel are available.</li>\n <li>Assist Paramedic and EMT-B Supervisors with skills training of EMT-B personnel</li>\n <li>Safely operate department vehicles</li>\n <li>Answer calls for emergency assistance via telephone and radio</li>\n <li>Perform drug and alcohol screens on team members in accordance with park policies</li>\n <li>Transport team members to off-site acute care facilities for occupational health services</li>\n <li>Maintain a clean work area; perform basic cleaning of First Aid facilities (mop floors, vacuum carpets, empty trash cans, wipe down counters and beds, First Aid van is vacuumed and cleaned; etc.)</li>\n <li>Complete safety ride audits and safety inspections at direction of Safety staff and First Aid Supervisors and Leads</li>\n <li>Maintain a professional relationship with guests and team members</li>\n <li>Maintain grooming standards according to the standard and policies set by Six Flags Great America and the Safety Department</li>\n <li>Adhere to all park labor policies pertaining to breaks taken, length of shift and types of work performed</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Age Requirement: 18 years or older</li>\n <li>Education: High school diploma or GED</li>\n <li>Licensure and Certification: \n  <ul>\n   <li>Current Illinois Department of Public Health (<strong>D.P.H.</strong>) Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic License. <em><u>Wisconsin License or National Registry License must meet <strong>reciprocity</strong> requirements with I.D.P.H. </u></em></li>\n   <li>Current American Heart Association BLS for the <strong><em>Healthcare Provider</em></strong> CPR/AED Certification</li>\n   <li>Valid Driver’s License</li>\n   <li>Must meet Region X system entry requirements through Highland Park Hospital</li>\n   <li>Obtain and maintain a valid Park Vehicle Operator’s Permit</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Strong written and verbal communications</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of computers and copiers</li>\n <li>Reliable means of transportation to and from work</li>\n <li>Knowledge of, and ability to use, all EMS equipment used in the park (cardiac monitor/defibrillator, pulse oximeter, stair chair, etc)</li>\n <li>Ability to handle moderate levels of stress related to high work load</li>\n <li>Safety awareness and general housekeeping</li>\n <li>Flexible to changes</li>\n <li>Available to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays</li>\n <li>Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions</li>\n <li>Must be professional, self-motivated, the ability to multi-task and have an enthusiastic attitude</li>\n <li>Must have strong teamwork skills and the ability to work with others</li>\n</ul>",
