    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SUMMARY</span></p>\n<p>Provide clinical support to providers for the health, wellness and disease management of patients to maintain quality patient care. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES </span>include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Maintain and record applicable client information in electronic medical records in an orderly fashion and according to guidelines.  Obtain client’s medical history and family history.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Help to facilitate the timely completion of insurance referrals and requests for disability benefits, durable medical equipment, medication prior authorizations and other forms requesting further patient/provider information.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Notifies patients of test results and provides instructions as indicated by provider.  Screens calls for providers.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Attend to patients, performing the following treatments and services (if trained):  administration of injections, nebulizer treatments, dry dressing changes, suture removal, electrocardiogram, ear lavage, tympanograms, audiograms and pulmonary function testing.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Take and record vital signs, weight, height, etc.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Obtain specimens and performs selected waived lab tests if trained (e.g. stool occult blood, rapid strep, urine HCG, blood glucose, etc.), capillary and venous blood collection.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Perform quality control testing as required for all lab waived tests.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Rotate office locations as assigned.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Actively participates in departmental staff meetings.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Maintains a safe environment and observes standard safety practices with particular attention to standard precautions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly manner.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Conduct activities in a fiscally responsible manner with consideration for consumption of agency resources.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Maintain utmost confidentiality in all aspects of duties.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Work as an integral member of the health care team.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Organizes and completes work in a timely manner.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Keeps flow of clinic structured and as on schedule as much as possible.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Assist with scheduling of tests and referrals.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Counsel patients on anatomy and physiology, health maintenance and other health care issues.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Perform hearing and vision screening.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Assists medical provider with procedures and serves as a chaperone.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Maintain clinical tracking for client services:  follow-up, acute care, chronic disease, preventative, lab, x-ray, referral, etc. under the direction of the provider.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Replenishes supplies and orders medical supplies as needed.  Cleans and sterilizes instruments as needed.  Sets up exam rooms and keeps stocked with needed supplies.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Maintains a neat and professional appearance and demonstrates commitment and dependability.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Attends meetings, workshops and seminars and keeps current on primary care issues for all life cycles.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>May assist in agency planning, projects and procedures.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Follows agency, State and Federal policies, procedures and guidelines, including (but not limited to) clinical, health and safety, pharmacy, laboratory and nursing guidelines.
