This position oversees content operations for MLSNEXTPro.com, social channels, and multimedia platforms, ensuring all content supports league priorities and maintains brand standards.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Director manages full-time and freelance staff and collaborates closely with Communications, Broadcast, Marketing, and other internal departments to ensure consistent, compelling, and strategic content delivery. The role requires extensive experience in soccer content production, digital media strategy, broadcast integration, and bilingual communication.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Digital Content Strategy & Editorial Leadership</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead and oversee the digital content strategy for MLS NEXT Pro across web, social, and emerging platforms.</li>\n <li>Direct the editorial strategy for MLSNEXTPro.com, including content planning, creation, editing, and publishing.</li>\n <li>Maintain editorial standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, brand alignment, and high production value.</li>\n <li>Oversee development of written, video, graphic, and multimedia content to drive fan engagement and support league storytelling.</li>\n <li>Find opportunities to create Spanish content that intentionally increases the interest and engagement of the Spanish-dominant soccer fan.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Team & Content Operations Management</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage MLS NEXT Pro’s full-time and freelance content staff, including writers, editors, producers, designers, and digital creators.</li>\n <li>Regularly provide constructive feedback and coaching to talent and staff.</li>\n <li>Establish workflows, prioritize assignments, and ensure on-time delivery of high-quality content.</li>\n <li>Lead editorial meetings and creative planning sessions to support multi-platform content initiatives.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Cross-Department Collaboration</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate with the MLS NEXT Pro Communications Department on high-priority announcements and messaging needs.</li>\n <li>Work collaboratively with the MLS NEXT Pro Broadcast Department to produce broadcast-supporting content, including features, segments, and integrated storytelling assets.</li>\n <li>Coordinate with Marketing, Social Media, Club Services, and MLS league entities to ensure consistent messaging and content alignment.</li>\n <li>Collaborate and support MLS Productions on departmental goals and projects.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Manager Responsibilities</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage the hiring and onboarding processes, including interviewing, selecting, orienting, and training employees.</li>\n <li>Achieve team goals by effectively communicating expectations and leading the Performance Management process:</li>\n <li>Plan, monitor, and evaluate performance</li>\n <li>Provide coaching, development, and corrective action when needed</li>\n <li>Implement departmental procedures and productivity standards</li>\n <li>Reinforce company policies and organizational values</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree required.</li>\n <li>8+ years of experience in broadcast, digital media, editorial leadership, or sports content production required.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience leading a soccer-focused content team.</li>\n <li>Experience in strategic content planning within professional sports environments.</li>\n <li>Broadcast production experience (e.g., line producer or content producer) preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Required Skills</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of domestic soccer, including league structures, competition formats, and cultural trends.</li>\n <li>Deep understanding of digital media trends, technology, and audience consumption patterns.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with CMS platforms and ability to write, edit, and publish content.</li>\n <li>Ability to edit images, video, and create social media content elements to support multimedia storytelling.</li>\n <li>Expertise in multi-platform live streaming video production and tools</li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal and diplomacy skills, capable of working effectively with executives, players, coaches, and external stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.</li>\n <li>Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.</li>\n <li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and adjust to shifting priorities.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; strong command of visual design principles.</li>\n <li>Ability to manage budgets and track departmental expenditures accurately.</li>\n <li>Willingness to travel and work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Total Rewards</u></strong></p>\n<p>Major League Soccer offers a competitive starting base salary of $120,000 – 150,000, based on individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
