You must have a passion to get things done quickly and get them done right.</p>\n<p>As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Analyzing system performance, identify problems, design, develop, and implement solutions</li>\n <li>Extending metrics collection, create visualizations, and statisitcal data analysis to better quantify systems performance.</li>\n <li>Building tooling to help identify system performance problems faster.</li>\n <li>Training other Akamai engineers to identify performance issues.</li>\n <li>Working with teams across the company to implement your solutions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Do what you love</strong></p>\n<p>To be successful in this role you will:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Have advanced programming experience in C.</li>\n <li>Have proficiency with Python, Bash, or Perl.</li>\n <li>Have a comprehensive understanding of Linux operating system internals and kernel interactions.</li>\n <li>Have deep experience with complex data structures, algorithms, and optimization techniques</li>\n <li>Have a thorough understanding of network protocols including IP, IPv6, TCP, UDP</li>\n <li>Have a proficiency with Git version control system.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work in a way that works for you</strong></p>\n<p>FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.
