Specific Responsibilities:
• Serve as a first point of contact for international students and study abroad participants, responding to inquiries and providing guidance on common questions related to campus resources, adjustment, and program participation.
• Support advising processes by meeting with students, triaging concerns, referring complex or sensitive matters to professional staff as appropriate.
• Contribute to a student-centered, responsive office environment.
• Support core functions related to F-1 and J-1 student services, including communications, documentation, and tracking of key requirements.
• Develop and apply a working knowledge of immigration regulations in day-to-day operations.
• Assist with international students' orientation and ongoing engagement efforts, including arranging or handling local transportation.
• Provide emergency support and advisement for international and study abroad students as needed.
• Provide general advising on study abroad opportunities, application processes, and timelines.
• Support application management, student outreach, and program promotion.
• Assist in coordinating pre-departure and re-entry programming.
• Plan and implement programs that promote global learning, intercultural engagement, and student participation.
• Assist in hiring and supervising international student ambassadors.
• Collaborate with campus partners on events and outreach initiatives.
• Contribute to presentations, marketing, and communications efforts.
• Maintain accurate student data in systems such as Via TRM or Suitable.
• Support administrative workflows, reporting, and process documentation.
• Ensure timely and detail-oriented handling of records and communications.
• Assist with processing transcripts of Ursinus students returning from study abroad.
• Document processes and maintain continuity of key responsibilities.
• Support onboarding and knowledge transfer to the incoming Fellow during the transition period.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferred Ursinus degree
• A strong interest in global education, student engagement, or higher education administration.
• Prior experience studying abroad, working with international students, or engaging in intercultural environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with comfort working in a student-facing role.
• High levels of initiative, maturity, and professional judgment.
• Ability to manage responsibilities independently while contributing to a team environment.
• Interest in pursuing graduate study or a professional career in international education or related fields.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
• Availability to respond to emergencies outside of regular business hours.
• Familiarity with additional languages or international experience is a plus but not required.
