This position performs preventative maintenance and makes repairs to electrical, plumbing systems, HVAC, and other mechanical systems. Provides assistance with minor building construction, general grounds keeping, renovation, and general carpentry work. This position serves as a liaison between contractors to obtain quotes and escorts civilians needing access to certain areas as they perform work.</p><p><br></p><p><u><strong>ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:&nbsp;</strong></u></p><p><em>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the duties herein described. Since every duty associated with this position may not be described herein, employees may be required to perform duties not specifically spelled out but may be considered incidental in the performance of this job.</em></p><p>· Troubleshoots and diagnoses system problems.</p><p>· Repairs and installs electrical equipment.</p><p>· Paints buildings and structures as required.</p><p>· Installs sheetrock in various facilities.</p><p>· Constructs walls and performs other carpentry duties.</p><p>· Installs carpet, tile, and other types of flooring.</p><p>· Provides maintenance on mechanical locking systems, including jail cameras and security systems.</p><p>· Installs and repairs plumbing systems.</p><p>· Troubleshoots, diagnoses, installs, and repairs HVAC units.</p><p>· Performs minor renovations.</p><p>· Performs preventative maintenance on buildings.</p><p>· Constructs and forms concrete.</p><p>· Lays construction blocks.</p><p>· Performs routine maintenance on various equipment.</p><p>· Maintains inventory of vehicle maintenance.</p><p>· Performs grounds keeping at the substation, communications towers, and the law enforcement center.</p><p>· Installs and repairs equipment for the inmate phone and tablet systems.</p><p>· Serves as a liaison between contractors to obtain quotes and escort them into secure locations.</p><p>· Serves as the Fire Safety Coordinator for the law enforcement and detention centers, including maintaining fire suppression equipment, hood vent cleaning, and conducting required fire marshal inspections.</p><p>· Sprays for insects and ensures the area is rodent-free.</p><p>· Runs data cable to various systems throughout the detention center.</p><p>· Maintains correct temperatures throughout the law enforcement and detention centers using HVAC software.</p><p>· Performs other related duties as assigned.</p>",
