    "description": "<p>The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) works under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.&nbsp; It is the responsibility of the CMA to serve as a role model for CNA&#39;s.&nbsp; Personal care and service to residents is required in a manner that promotes flexibility, safety, comfort and has the resident&#39;s overall well-being at the focal point of each task. Duties are performed in accordance with recognized standards, the laws of Kansas and the Mission Statement of The Wesley.</p>\n\n<p><em>Summary of Responsibilities for Medication Administration:</em></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Prepare and administer oral/topical medications as ordered by the physician and as directed by the plan of care.</li>\n\t<li>Document administration of medication on the Medication Record as outlined in the policies and procedures.&nbsp; Document outcome of giving PRN medications.</li>\n\t<li>Notify the Licensed Nurses of stop orders, stock supply needs, drugs needing to be destroyed and medication errors.</li>\n\t<li>Assist Licensed Nurse with removal of discontinued meds from medication cart.</li>\n\t<li>Count controlled medications with a Licensed Nurse.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><em>Summary of Responsibilities for Resident Care:</em></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Treat all residents with dignity and respect, including those with disruptive behaviors and insure resident rights are maintained at all times.</li>\n\t<li>Assist with implementing resident&#39;s plan of care and assist with interpreting plan of care to CNAs. Provide resident with opportunities for independence and choice consistent with their care plan. Set example of quality nursing care for CNAs on the team.</li>\n\t<li>Some shift assignments will require the CMA to be responsible for passing the majority of the medications to assigned residents.</li>\n\t<li>Support and foster good relationships with residents, families and visitors.</li>\n\t<li>Answer call lights promptly.</li>\n\t<li>Complete documentation of tasks performed and other documentation according to The Wesley&#39;s policy/procedures, including vital signs, meal percentages, weights and other documentation as needed.</li>\n\t<li>Assist residents with transfers, promote ambulation and exercise, transport residents as needed and as designated on resident Plan of Care using Gait Belts, proper transfer techniques, and lifts per facility Policy and Procedures.</li>\n\t<li>Make beds and change bedding as needed for resident comfort/hygiene.</li>\n\t<li>Meet residents nutritional needs by assisting with meal set-up as each resident requires and provide assistance with eating as needed; responsible for distribute and assist residents with snacks.</li>\n\t<li>Report any behavioral or physical changes in residents&#39; condition, problems, concerns, grievances with residents and/or families/responsible parties to the Charge Nurse or administrative personnel.</li>\n\t<li>Provide personal care for the residents in private and in a calm, friendly manner.</li>\n\t<li>Check residents routinely to ensure all needs are met in a timely manner.</li>\n\t<li>Maintain confidentiality of resident information.</li>\n\t<li>Perform treatments and document them in the nurse&rsquo;s notes, including observations and progress.</li>\n\t<li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in plan of care.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p style=\"text-align:center\">&nbsp;</p>\n",
